Is it possible for me to unlock my second character slot and then drop everything jedi and force sensitive related?

My plan was to unlock the second character slot for a crafter character.. which I want to master force crafting mastery with after I get to that point on that character as well.. however I don't want to keep any force sensitive related skills on my primary combat character as it messes with my template..

Thanks in advance.

Nope, you cannot drop below six branches of FS skills.

Here's the thing. The Force Sensitive system is for you to unlock a Jedi character. As a bonus to unlocking a Jedi SOE gives you a second character slot so that you can have a character to make money with or play a normal profession with. The Force Sensitive system is NOT a means to just unlock a second character. If you want a second character and no Jedi then I suggest you either find 6 FS branches that compliment your primary character's non-Jedi professions and cough up another $15/month.

Ok, I'm a little confused now. Because I was told when you reach the point where you unlock the second character slot. Your first character loses all their skills and can only get Jedi skills after that. Which is why I wasn't planning to go Jedi, because I don't wanna lose the skills I have. And don't wanna regrind it back on the second toon.

You were misinformed. You dont lose your current skills. Once you grind out enough XP to start gaining Jedi boxes (LightSaber, Powers, etc) you can drop your current skills. DO NOT drop all your skills once gaining Jedi, only when you have enough XP to gain Jedi skill boxes.

Yes your current character can in fact return to the regular skills entirely, except that they will have 24 Sps spent on the FS skills they learned to reach Padawan. I think thats all there is to it no? Reach Padawan and either continue on to jedi, or be a FS sensitive member of some other profession. And at that point you can create your alt. Or so I gather from what I have read.

You don't lose your regular skills when you become aPadawan. It simply unlocks the Jedi skill trees for you, ready to train. You will only have to drop regular skills to free up SP to spend on Jedi skillboxes, same as if you were changingfrom one non-Jedi profession toanother. Once you become a Padawan, you cannot drop below 24 SP spent on FS and you cannot drop Padawan status, but you do not have to pursue Jedi. You can delete your training saber and carry on as a non-Jedi and keep your 2nd character slot. If you delete your main and re-roll him/her, you will lose your 2nd slot.

It is all the FS system means to me. That's all I care about. I could give two flips about being a jedi. if I wanted to be a jedi I would just play Jedi Academy. If they are going to force people to play either craftersOR combat professions (which they have done withthe CU)then they should allow for another method of gaining a second character slot. You know, how every other MMORPG has been since the days of 2d graphics instead of requiring you to have two accounts.

Every other MMORPG doesn't have a player-run economy.

At exactly what point does the second character slot become available? I want to use my token respec to get my main character to be a useful jedi; however, i want to have a second character slot with artisan skills to maintain my vendors in my shop...

Does the second character slot open once you complete 24 FS boxes? Once you defeat Mellichae? Once you meditate at the shrine? Anyone have an answer...thank you very much

The second slot becomes available after you complete the padawan trials.
