Thread: Is the CU bugging you so much you dont feel like grinding??

I have been 2 branches away the last 5 days finished a branch in 3 days but all this CU talk is upsetting me so much i dont feel like playing. Ive lost all hope for this game and i will eventually before the CU hits get padawan but anyone else feeling like this??

yeah, i feel similar. i know i need to get the xp before the CU but can never be bothered grinding

I too know how you feel, but, you are very close to getting what you have worked for for so long. don't give up, i assure you your patience and perseverence will be rewarded.

Yep I hear ya....I feel like if I chuck one more grenade i'm going to scream...I would have prefered to keep my tkm and swords template and just played the game, grind here and there and go have fun....but with the CU I feel like if I don't get the XP banked now, I'll never get it....
I'm 2 and half trees away, have 2 more quests to do for my last unlock, and am now wondering how in the world I'll be able to afford LS componets.....

feel the same way as you... but then i think how much harder it will probably be if i wait.. so i do it now

Ihave the same issue. I'm currently trying to do Phase 3 Combat mission and that isn't helping either since the commander dies in about 4 minutes.
Even if you get Jedi it's gonna suck too. A guild friend of mine is a Padawan on Ahazi so he tried Jedi out on the TC-Ahazi server and he said it sucks like every other combat proffession. I'm giving the CU a 2 week trial when it goes live but I'll probably cancel my account like I cancelled my expansion pre-order after testing the CU. My whole guild is ready to hit the cancel button 
They really did it this time.
The small influx of noobs after the movie release isn't gonna make up for the loss of current players.

Heck, i just unlocked here in phase 3. Should be a great time for me right? Nope. I have made up my mind that i will go up to padawan here and if the devs of SWG decide to push forward this pile of do-do on us called the CU i will cancel my account. No sense in grinding out a jedi charachter if they are going to be unplayable come May 5th when the CU is suppose to drop.
I wish i could put a positive spin and outlook on the upcoming CU, just not one single thing about it impress's me.

I think the only profession that will do well in the CU is CH - because they can actually control enough creatures to occupy things like squill. I mean.. 1v1 all combat pc vs 1 mountain squill..
should this be an epic battle that takes 5 minutes, and enough running to put carl lewis to shame?..
i dunno.. maybe I just got a turd of a de10 from the frog - but I would assume being master bh/master pistoleer, there would be a special in there somewhere that would do more than 600 damage on a regular basis.. doesn't seem to be though.
but yea.. After playing around on the tc a bit.. my optimism is on a very steep downhill slide.
I'm all for grouping too - but I think that 1v1, a lvl 80 character should be able to take out a lvl 60 squill fairly quickly under a minute at any rate, with minimal running. I mean.. god forbid you screw up and pull 2 at once..
that and the crafting changes makes the cu seem very poorly conceived. I know it's just TC, but let's face it.. what's the timeframe to this going live? it's not very long, and there's MUCH wrong (and out of balance) with the cu. They could have the entire population of india coding fixes on the bugs and other non-working parts of the game and it still wouldn't be ready for the release date they've given. I mean.. bugs I've submitted on the first days of the beta are still there .. and new ones are popping up all the time.

i felt that way . . .then i forced myself to grind . . .and that's what I did . . .and now I have 1 jedi padawan . . .and 2 other force sensitive accounts. Dont get down . . .you can do it!! It is soooooo worth it. The CU wont bother you too much as a padawan . . .because as a paddy you have to completly change the way you play anyeways!!!

Yes...and I have a full template jedi and a very fun guild...but I kind of have to force myself to log on. Until I know how all the changes are going to work out I don't know how I will spend "alone time" - LOL! When one of my friends wants to play I log right on, but when I have time to just grind or whatever how in God's name could I know what to do?
It is depressing, I love playing SWG but have no idea what to do. I figure I will play in earnest post-CU and see what I think and just coast until then.

While I am largely anti-CU I look at it in the way that they won't give us a system that will be so horrible as to drive players away, we are theircash cow,alot of rumor and conjecture as well as tid-bits from an unfinished product has left a bad taste in our mouths...personally I think they don't need to change the combat system at all but other major points in the game they are blissfully ignoring....my one largest fear and dissapointment however is the use of..."Magical particle effects"....which they said would not be put in but yet a TK assault is now akin to a firework display reminiscent of EQ2...why!?!?! *sigh* I also remember the revolutionary team we were raved to about by the developers who were going to make SW more SW with content and feel.....maybe they were talking about a different Star Wars game....or maybe they buried that too....now to disperse my crankiness with some coffee yarr!
