Thread: Devs: Do you realize what you just did?

My guess is that every FS grinder out there will convert to TKM/MSwords/MFencer, the only possible triple elite.
One capped trip to the village will yield 132K FS xp, compared to 88K for any double elite.
So it really won't slow down the powergamer very much at all, it will just bend over the player who DOES NOT want to "FOTM" and just play his character.
If slowing down the powergamer is the object here, it will fail. And in making the mountain look that much taller to the non powergamer, then the Devs have just made the game less appealing to the type of person that they NEED to recruit to significantly increase the playerbase.
Doing stuff to nerf the powergamer will never ever work, and will have unforseen reprecussions.

Actually you can master entertainer, dancer, musician, and ID all at the same time now too ![]()
But i see your point

You got rid of the grenade grind. Fine, I have no problem with that. But why didn't you convert grenades to heavy weaps XP instead?
What you have done is effectively DOUBLE the lenghth of the FS grind.
Here is how:
Pre 21: A Master Rifleman would cap xp at 1.2 million rifle xp and would get 120k combat xp to go with that.
This would yield 80K total combat prowess or reflexes XP.
Post 21: Same master rifleman caps at 1.2 million rifle XP, and get 120K combat xp.
This will yeild 44K total combat prowess or reflexes XP.
Why was the decision made to make such an extremist change to the game mechanics, one that discriminates heavily against non powergamers?
/agree
Ya hit the nail right on the head. ![]()

My constructive solution here is for grenades to be changed to yeild heavy weaps XP, and the combat ratio returned to what it was.

That aside, you missed the real point of my post if you think it had to do with experience caps.
BH exp conversion isn't 1:1 anymore. It's 5:1 or higher now.
TKM/MSwords/Pike0040/Fencer0040 and I get 1.2 mill exp per plus 300k combat exp for a total of 170k FS exp per visit. I was MBH/MPistols/Carbs0440 before I used my respec 2 patches ago when they screwed BH'ing up. Anyway, 170k FS exp per visit seems mighty nice to me. It was 260k before the combat exp nerft but this seems great still compared to other templates

Then wouldn't it have been easier to say: "I'm a Bounty Hunter, they don't max at 1.2 million" instead of dragging it out?

I was just making sure the information was correct. A person hears something and then sees something else and goes aggro on the forum. Yea it wouldve been easier to say "I'm a Bounty Hunter, they don't max at 1.2 million", oh well.

That's crazy, 5:1. I'm surprised, it didn't seem like the kind of thing you could really exploit.
Bounty Hunter 0,4,4,4 = 1,200,000 * 3 (rifle, carbine, pistol)
TKA 0,0,4,0 = 1,200,000 (unarmed)
Swordsman 0,0,4,0 = 1,200,000 (2-handed)
Fenter 4,0,0,0 = 1,200,000 (1-handed)
----------------------------------
= 7,200,000 weapons experience
= 720,000 combat experience
-----------------------------------------------------
= 264,000 combat/reflex FS exp
That gives you rougly 5 maxes to fill one full line, and 30 maxes to fill your 6 branches.
Even if you do it slowly and max weapons experience, lets say once every 5 days. It would take you 150 days to fill out your entire FS exp grind. And since it takes a minimum of 180 days to finish it anyways...
The template is level 64 (like it matters in a group) and leaves 27 SP's left over, more than enough for the 24 SP's you need to fill your FS lines.
*fixed with additional info from some helpful people, although I distinctly remember when I did my FS grind not too long ago, I maxed ad 900,000 FS exp for 1 line of BH unless I picked up a full line in say carbineer, rifle,or pistol*
