You can't. Plain and simple. There is currently no way for a new player to become jedi. When publish 24 was pushed out all the sudden the path to become jedi was destroyed. The current development team has refused to comment on this issue as to whether it is a bug or working as intended to cap the current jedi population. So if you are a new player seeing that there is this new expansion for this game, and think it would be cool to become a jedi, well you are out of luck and you can not become a jedi.

I write this message to inform you, the new player base, the path to jedi is currently broken or it has been intentionally removed. So you can not ever become jedi with the way things are now. If you wish to play this game and become a jedi like most people, I urge you to do whatever you can to help get the development teams attention on this issue.

Actually, it has been confirmed as a bug, not some sneaky Anti-Jedi conspiracy...

It has not been confirmed as a bug. Unless a real DEV says so. CSR's know nothing as does and Tiggs isn't always in the loop.

It has been confirmed as something that is a known issue, and being worked on...

Many things are being worked on...like the next expansions....The force ranking system.....

manythings have been being worked on for a year or more. So all new players need to be aware of this.

I applaud your effort to inform the player base, as of now your statement is correct, there is no way to advance to Jedi post Publish 24, whether it was intentional or not. If you did get to inner glow before Publish 24 you can still become a Jedi, however even if you meet the known requirements post Publish 24, you cannot become a Jedi unless you got to inner glow pre Publish 24.

The rifleman correspondant posted in this forum that it was an acknowledged bug, however no dev has posted at all stating that fact, nor has the Jedi Correspondant, who's job it is to maintain this forum. Tiggs did post in a thread saying she was monitoring the thread and looking into it, but that's not the same as an admission that it is a bug.

As for those that scream, its a bug it'll be fixed. I know for a fact just because its a bug, doesn't mean it'll be fixed anytime soon. There are bugs left that still plague the game from release, from Jump to Lightspeed, from the Combat Upgrade, and from Rage of the Wookies. Add to those the game breaking bugs of Trials of Obi Wan ( the ones where folks can't log back in which is hopefully being fixed) and you see that there is a long list of bugs that not only should have been fixed by now, but that have not been fixed. There is also the case where battlefields where removed first so that they could be worked on, then over a year later just removed entirely. The FRS has been turned off for a good while now as well, almost a year. There simply is not enough developers assigned to Star Wars Galaxies to fix all the things that need to be fixed, that's my opinion but it seems pretty obvious.

My alt got glowy and got her visit from the old man last Friday (post patch24), by Saturday she was giving the Sith the smackdown and doing village quests.

Oh, and I only had one theme park badge. I did all the Mos Eisley noob quests and grabbed one of the Warren badges in addition to visiting all the POIs.

I kinda wonder of this is has something to do with the SWG Starter Kit that's comming out. I've wondered if SOE would at one point just make Jedi a starter profession. There are more and more people that are getting SWG just for Jedi. At some point, they are going to either start advertising the 18 week wait or just retool the entire thing (again).

Since Tiggs originaly called the SWG Starter Kit's listing on Amazon.com an "error" and had them remove it, it's poped up on more then a few other sites with different descriptions and is now back up on Amazon.

There's something comming and they are just not bothering to let any of us know about it yet.

They would never make Jedi a starting profession. That would cripple the game as we know it, and I say this even though I do not have a Jedi yet.

True, it would derail what a ton of players have worked towards. But, look at SOE's track record and think if how many more accounts the would stand to pick up...
