if you're not kidding, some one ought to slap you....
The better way to slow down the Jedipopulation would be to make the Jedi grind harder. Its way too easy now, when I first started Jedi I accecpted the fact that dying (and cloning) under any circumstances, would lose me XP, and the fact that being near anyone would give me visibility, but now the devs only let us lose XP if at the death of a BH, and we no longer gain visibility if near grouped mates. So I think the XP conversions are done to reduce Jedi, are a load of BS!
If they made the Jedi grind harder, after you got your 2nd slot, after you're done with the village, then you've got your 2nd char to play with, when you find the jedi grind tough going.
Padawans are hardly a threat to even a kreetle, let alone the player base!
I can see the medic XP rate changing as the XP gained in that is the equilavent to weapons XP, although not guaranteed to get if no one needs healing, but combat XP is just plain dumb.

In some ways this change makes a lot of sense, It has stopped players grenade grinding in groups and will most likely slow the flow of new Jedi a little bit.
The main problem is that once again the Dev's solution to a problem is to make everyone grind xp harder to achieve Jedi, which is not a solution, it's a lame-ass cop-out to cover the fact that they are unable to think of new content.
Fix that crack in the wall, don't paper over it.
Indeed, the grenade grind was a total exploit and abuse - but this "solution" is a slap in the face to all us casual and weekend gamers, who now have to work 10 times as hard or give up entirely.

I along with three other players unlocked their jedi slots within a week of each other. As far as I gathered none of us did much lvling before TC-P was mothballed. So essentially we were still new jedi.
Along came the CU. One of the afore mentioned jedi decided to group for their experience cause it was difficult to solo. From a new jedi to a finished template it only took the player 2 weeks to do. Bear in mind hunting jedi is frowned upon on TC-P, thus this is BH unmodified jedi progression. It took one player prior to the CU one week just to get to lightsaber 0004, whereas one player can after the CU progress to a full template in double that time is sad to say obsence.
Now TC-P got double xp like live but it never got turned off. As a result FS village progression was speeded up four fold for over a month. We had about twelve jedi all unlock within a two week period after the CU.
As TC is monitored a bit more closely than other servers, this rate of new jedi's appearing had to be alarming for devs. Needless to say a similar effect but slower was noticed from the live servers. That new jedi were completing their templates in a very short period of time.
