Thread: Anyone else going to be among the first to fight Mel under CU?

As an FS grinder (and going hard since CU coming up) my final unlock will occur, assuming phase shifts occur on time, on May 5th, the day the CU actually hits. Because of this, I will be among the test mice to fight mel for the first time under the new combat system and frankly it's kinda scarey.
For weeks, I've been reading FAQs and various other 'best way to fight Mel' posts, learning and preparing for that moment. A few of my guildmates have fought Mel and said it takes no time at all, if you have the right ppl in your group and due to a time difference, I couldn't actually participate in the attacks so this fight is completely new to me. Once CU hits, it will not only be new forME cause i've never seen/done the fight before, it will be new for EVERYONE and thus, we can almost think about chucking all those FAQs and 'best way to fight Mel' posts that everyone have been reading.
It sounds to me like those of us that will be unlocking right around when the CU hits will be WRITING the new FAQs and 'best way to beat mel' posts, so with this I ask...
Who will be joining me this May when we have our final unlock and last complete branch right when the CU hits?

I'm in the same boat as you guys...I have to wait till next phase to go unlock, and not to sound like a cheesy quote but I have a bad feeling about this

im waiting for phase 4 2 unlock all though only have 2.5 caps left come on servers get bk up

hehe, i guess a plus side would be that since sabres do energy damage, our armor will actually protect us against his attacks. I am a Master Rifleman/Doc and I intend to be that way going against mel so (based on current CU info) I'll probably need a bunch of TKMs to tank, unfortunately, I think they can't wear armor...so much for energy resist there... Definitely, interesting process that's for sure.
I've been unable to try out TC to figure out how any of the combat changes work but I have been reading every bit of info from the bug/discussion threads In Testing (quite depressing actually) so I have 'ideas' but no hard experience. Anyone that has been on TC-5/ep3 have anything to offer in regards to fighting Mel under CU?

grinding and banking as much as possible, but yeah my 6th unlock comes in at phase 4 too nade grinding like a madman, factories pumpin them out as fast as they can. I just hope I can get the phase 4 quest done before the CU hits cause between phase4 quest, mel, and the CU, this will seriously suck!

Who knows maybe the CU will get delayed by a week or 2 due to bugs..... he I can hope cant I?

Well technically there can only be one "first", and even then there really is no way to tell who will actually be the first on each server....

Hehe, that would be SO awesome. 'Cause that phase4 sith onslaught (my last one to unlock, already have the xp banked) could be absolute hell under the current CU rules. It's funny all the little things that you come to expect to be facing suddenly have a new light come CU.

Yeah i'm also unlocking in phase 4. I'm just planning on taking a nice group to fight him and get it over with.

So phase 4 unlocks May 5th? Well ifs thats tru for Bloodfin then I guess I'll have to take down Mel with the new CU, shouldnt be that hard really, I'm gonna be tanking and I'll have another TKM and 2 rifles. I'll have to see

Im unlucking at may 5th too... And just to be safe, Im considering bringing the entire guild along.. Just to be on the safe side..
Have a feeling they forgot to downgrade his hams or something.. but still a group of 20+ shouldnt have to much of trouble kicking his behind!

Last month, my friend and I (both master rifles) took out Mel without much of a problem, now I have a feeling things will be TOTALLY different.
I have to complete those 8 sith camp missions (takes 3 days) so I wont be able to unlock my 6th branch right after phase change/server reset. I really hope they push the CU back a bit, but if they don't, I plan on hanging around areas of Naboo with a bunch of water and wait for the 2nd old man visit. If I can get Mel out in a lake, it'll make it a lot easier to take him down sans group.
