just quit, the "nerf" you get is nothing compared to grinding jedi. If you cant handle this you will never handle the jedi grind.
Luckily I couldn't give a rat's butt for getting Jedi. I want the alt. I *might* have been interested in Jedi if it weren't so FOTM, or if there was something interesting to do besides PvP, but there isn't anything that is going to last me that I can see, and quite frankly the people I see who are heavy PvPers are exactly the people I don't want to spend any time with in game or out. Most are utter morons.
So I just want to get through this FS BS and get an alt slot. My main will go back to being a crafter and put the Jedi silliness behind him - besides its illegal and he is a loyal citizen of the Empire. My new alt will go on to do something interesting if I can find it, perhaps Ranger/CH or something.
Someday SOE will realize that although Jedi is their cash-cow that sells the game to new players, its the rest of the professions that are going to ensure the game survives. If we get reduced to nothing but 12yr old Jedi waving their epeens around in Theed, Coronet, and the Mining Colony, the game is dead and gone because everything interesting will have been bled out of it
use your imagination mate, dont generalzie the jedi populatio to what you do! My teamplate atm:
Ranger 4440, and some random boxes in jedi. When im finished grinding i will be ranger 0040 and the best jedi skills i can get off the SP. Do i go jedi do be uber, no, for pvp no, i do it because:
1) i have one weapon to realte to
2) no more buying armor
3) heal without any medic skills.

You know, if you would actually go grind instead of whining on the forums, you would probably have all your FS xp already. It's MUCH easier post-cu to do that FS grind than it was pre-cu, so get over it. It takes 6 months minimum to get all 6 trees unlocked. Does it really take you that long to get all that xp for ONE tree in three weeks?
And yes, I read the post, but the part about pistols, rifles, etc.. made it seem like you were unaware. Try typing from someone else's perspective.

Oh sure, a Hybrid of some sort like you are suggesting is quite viable. I wasn't suggesting otherwise, I was suggesting that the vast *majority* of players who are playing Jedi have no such intentions and if they are a hybrid at all, its only until they finish grinding to full template. I might end up as a hybrid of some sort but I highly doubt it to be honest. I think by the time I am done grinding out my FS exps I may well be too bored to play the game any further, we shall see. I do know I have done a lot of the different professions that interest me already so I need something new. I am also an altaholic in a game with a one character limit per server - sheer torture - so I want the alt more than anything else.
I think the main reason we see so many Jedi are the results of these things:
* For existing players, with reasonably high CL, respeccing their character by grinding a different template is quick and simple. People are free to try almost anything they want in the way of combat combinations and switching back doesn't take long really. Getting there in the first place can take a bit, but even that is less than it used to be.
* Once you have gotten to CL80 on your chosen combat template, there is really very little to do other than grind more to make money or hunt for drops. Sure, you can engage in the CGW but thats not everyone's cup of tea. Sure you can explore but not everyone is into that. There are quests but you did a lot of them on the way to FS Status. Of course there is crafting but a lot of people are definitely not into that (despite the terrific crafting system in this game). What else is there to do? Well, if you follow the stickies, you can grind for Jedi which lets you have a focus for the grinding that is SOE's substitute for content in SWG. Thus Jedi becomes a logical conclusion to the path of reaching CL80, the next stage is to work on Jedi. Once that is acheived, after monumental boredom and endurance, there is really very little to do other than more grinding, the GCW and dueling. Naturally for the later you have to go somewhere where others will be found to duel and that means the most populated spots.
* New players come to the game expecting to become a Jedi straight off. I am suprised ROTW didn't make it a starter class to be honest. Some future expansion will because by that point everyone will have one, or expect one.
Understand, I have nothing against Jedi as a class really. I just hate the fact that you can see one on a daily basis - and as often as not more like 20 or so in a single spot. If everyone played their Jedi on the sly, hiding from the NPC authorities and I seldom if ever saw one except in a group, that would be fine by me. If Jedi *had* to hide their status in public or risk really DIRE consequences, that would be fine by me. Let everyone play a Jedi, it doesn't bother me. Make it a starter class, thats fine by me. Remove the endless grind and make the content quest-based, and interesting - that would be terrific. Just as long as its very hard and very rare to see a Jedi.

Actually, I don't care what you call me. I just like a good arguement.
Still missing the part about COMBAT already being 30/1 before pub 21?
it isnt wt..f are you smoking you are a noob for sure
And I did 1.2 mill FS xp in one night b/c I thought the nerf was coming...oh well, glad to be done.
How is this possible. I can do 200K FSXP in 3 hours and thats going prtty much non-stop in a good group. So for argument sakes lets say it takes you 2 hours to do 200K FS XP therefore that's 12 hours straight, no drink breaks, smoke breaks and pee breaks. Serioulsy how are you doing 1.2 M FSXP in one night? Grenades?

Until I see this confirmed by a Dev or Tiggs...I won't believe the XP conversion is getting nerfed. So what if it's on the TS? And I did 1.2 mill FS xp in one night b/c I thought the nerf was coming...oh well, glad to be done.
Okay so 1.2 million FS exps if you did them via combat is 36million exps at 30:1, at 5k per kill thats 7200 bols for example. At roughly 50 bols per mission thats 144 missions in one sitting? Is that possible? or is my math way off?
Just curious because I don't see how people are doing this in no time flat.
Sorry guys, I don't pull legs, lie, cheat, or steal. And I have no reason to do any of those in this game. I did it MY SELF. This is not second hand, not what I heard, not what I read. It's what I saw in the little pop up boc. 30 to 1.
Believe what you want, but I know for my self.
