Wow, mafia! With the way you talk, you must be King Forum!

Oh, wait... you only have 5 more posts than him.

Well, I actually have been here a while, so I know that he's right and you're wrong. Necro posting is not allowed. Don't believe me? Try it. See how quick your threads are locked and your account suspended.

Hmmm have read these forum rules a few times now and not seen ne mention of that rule thanks.... actualy i belive it's bad form to post a new thread on a topic thats already been posted.

Using search helps u stay in a topic that already open

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=game_guides&message.id=151947

This is so u dont fill up the forum with repeated threads

And I never claimed to be "King Forum" I never mentioned myself as a Vetran of the forum or anything to that nature I was mearly stating a fact a thread is more likely to be locked if it is a repeated thread and covers a topic that has been covered in another thread.

So you being a Vetran of these forums please guide me to the rules that say people cant post in older threads. But make sure you read the two threads i have linked here regarding forum guidlines. Thank you.

Actually the idea of necro posting is done to help keep "old news"...well old. But by the same token these same "veterans" tell newbies to read "old news" instead of making a new post about... you guessed it.. "old news". So its a self defeating rule about "necro posting". If it is relavent or a question you might have, then reviving an old thread is ok. I might not have many posts on this forum but i have been reading it for a while and posting on a lot of other forums (mostly EQ based). I have seem people revive old posts with a /bump and nothing else. Maybe because it is still a question for someone? Necro posting is only for the "lewt" forums in my experiance. Just my 2 credits worth.

There's nothing fundamentally "bad" about necro posting. Honestly, I think the rule came about back in the early days of the forums when posts were slipping to the next page in a matter of minutes. Seriously, you'd post, and hope someone saw it to respond within a few minutes before it disappeared. Necro posting would only make things worse by "cluttering" things up and quite frankly, confusing people.

These days the only thing you have to worry about on the forums is getting hit by a tumbleweed. I'm not sure if the mods enforce it, and people who actually complain about it (thankfully no one in this thread...everyone seems nice here) are really just being dicks.

Almost forgot...it was made worse when some people would necro posts like "NOBODY IS ABLE TO LOG IN ON ANY SERVER", a post from launch day, but it would show up 3 or 4 months after launch, basically inciting anger among people.

There's really never any need to necro, all that being said. The useful threads...guides and such...are usually stickied or bumped. Usually a thread is dead for a reason

Seeing as this is an MMORPG forum, the state of the game changes with each publish. Therefore, older information becomes obsolete over time. If anchient threads are constantly 'bumped' then the forums would be awash with misinformation and the mods would spend a lot more time locking obsolete threads. And 'mafia-man' I said bumping old threads was 'bad form' not against the rules. It is generally considered bad form to post in '1337 sp33k' but you will see no rule forbidding its use. I may not be a 'Comunity Veteran' on these boards but I've been using forums for the past 7 years and general posting etiquette applies to all of them.

Actually, I'm pretty surehereit is against the rules. I've seen the mods herethreaten banning to people who have done this in the past. Like I said, it's probably not as heavily enforced now that everyone is gone, but it's a rule nonetheless.

It's not listed in the rules: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Announcements&message.id=2

Strange that they would enforce a 'no 1337' policy while ignoring the people who use various methods to get around the profanity filter

Or - you can try to master all 32 professions in about 4-6 weeks.

Here's how!

Exchange your chair for a porta-potty - you can empty it during server downtime.

Buy a cooler or a portable fridge. Stock it well - you'll be eating a lot of cold meals unless you have a microwave you can put on top of it. In that case, go for the good nukeable stuff.

Quit work. Jedi don't work, why should you?

Buy plenty of Lysol and deodorizors - won't be much time for showering and personal hygeine for the next 4-6 weeks. You may want to let your neighbors know that if they smell something funny, nothing died at your place, it's just you.

Oh, on the above topic - send all of your pets to live w/ friends and family. Or something will smell funny.

Caffiene pills are an absolute must. You will not have time for sleep for the next month and a half.

If you are married, or have a relationship, break it off now - get the other half out the door, because if you don't they will leave you anyway since you don't spend time with them. Not only that, but they willend up throwing items such as bricks, hammers, and other heavy objects at your PC (and possibly you), before they leave. So get it done now.

Forget sex. At least 75% of the female characters in SWG are guys. Since you followed the above step, and since Jedi don't have relationships, then again, why should you?

Now, load up the game, and give up the rest of your life!

With money and macros, anything is possible. Dancer and Musician, for example, can be completed while afk. Write a looping macro, though pop in every 2-3 hours, for a couple of reasons. First, SWG tends to kick you if you're afk for too long, so just move the mouse once in a while. Second, the group you're in may have disbanded or you may have been kicked, so you'll want to show that you're actually there so you can get an invite.

Any of the ranged professions can be completed in a couple of days by going to the geo cave. Write a looping macro that spams your best specials, and of course, be buffed. Melee is the same, though you may find some difficulty with TKA and Fencer in the early stages, while in the cave. Bounty Hunter is a real pain. Most of the bounty missions you take will end up with your target lodged in a wall, unretrievable. Jedi death purchases are an effective, but costly solution. Crafting professions can be completed with macros and clicking. Most ex MasterDroid Engineers have never built a droid, just parts. Merchant is a tough one. Get a good location near Coronet or Theed, and pay people to come in if you must.

Once you unlock, you can get crystals by writing a looping macro which spawns 1 or 2 specials, then /loot all. They'll be automatically targetedwhen they attack you. Find a thug spawn point and go to sleep. Krayt Pearls, that's another story. Kill, kill, kill, and kill some more. You'll get some pearls eventually.
