You COULD drop your combat level to something where your training saber would allow you to build xp effectively. It appears you simply refuse to. SOE is not to blame in that case if you can't make good xp.

Why should they change the conversion rates? The fact they are as high as they are discourages people from going for Jedi unless they are really committed to the path. This is a good thing. It's not like most people don't complain about the number of Jedi already. Reducing the conversion rates is only going to make this game more "Jedi Wars" than it already is.

Oh wow, why the hell didn't I think of that? Oh yeah, cause it's f'in stupid. I'll just drop all my skills the moment I get access to my training saber so that when I get on the terminals I can be a complete pushover. Yeah, that's what I want to do, make myself a target and then tie my hands behind my back so that I can be killed by a blind 1 legged dog with no teeth. Come on, do you honestly believe that someone who has spent over a year and a half working through this system should have to give up every single skill they have as soon asthey gain access to Jedi just so they can make more than 1 experience fighting things that were meant to be fought at that point? That's like saying that a MBH has to drop all his skills so that he has nothing but novice marksman before he can hunt Jedi. It's the worst idea ever. The way the system was intended to work was for you to surrender your skills as you advanceyour Jedi, not surrender them just so you can gain experience. The devs screwed up, the quicker you admit it the better it will be for everyone in the game. They can fix the problem very quickly, but as long as there are people defending their mistake they won't even bother to look at it. This isn't about me being inflexible, it's about the devs mistake needing to be fixed. You guys are the inflexible ones. Unable to admit that the devs screwed up and that the problem needs to be solved. SOE is to blame for the mistake, and SOE needs to rectify it.

As for the conversion rates... You don't think that the 3 weeks between village phases discourages people from becoming Jedi? How about the millions of experience that is required to advance your Jedi to Knight, isn't that discouraging? Do they really need to make it so that the experience you get as a casual gamer makes it impossible for you to attain Jedi? I distinctly remember them saying that casual gamers could get the character, but at the rate a casual gamer gains experience, they'd have to play the game for more than 2 and a half years. That's just rediculous. Especially since they said it would takesix months toa year to unlock the FS slot for casual gamers. The conversion rates don't discourage power gamers, because power gamers can make billions of experience a week. They have no life, that's why they are power gamers. They can spend 18 hours a day 7 days a week online sitting at their computer grinding experience. Those who have a life and can't sit in front of a computer screen playing a GAME for over 120 hours a week are the ones who are punished by the conversion rates. The game mechanic that's supposed to slow down progress is the village cycles and the 3 day waiting period on the entrance and exit quests. The actual experience gathering only punishes the casual gamers and it should be reduced to make it more fair for those who can't spend insanely stupid amounts of time on the game.

"We know that players are going to master the Jedi system eventually, and that's probably fine as the servers mature." - Haden, IGN Interview

They expected lots of Jedi as the servers matured, a few more isn't going to make a difference one way or another now. The profession should not just be for the powergamer no-lifers. The profession should beavailable to those who would truly roleplay it, the casual gamers who bought this game to PLAY A GAME and not to DO A JOB.

Ahh but there is the rub. If you drastically lower your combat level to reflect the damage output of your training saber, and hunt solo as you certainly can do fighting low level MOBs, then you in all likelyhood will not get on the terminals in the first place.

Sun-Tzu put it adroitly, "To win without fighting is best." What is preferable? Having a high CL with no easy way to get Jedi XP and sure-fire odds of getting on the terminals yet able to defend yourself when you get on them OR...

Having a low CL, an easy road to getting good Jedi XP, and very low odds of getting on the terminals?

That's like asking what's better? Having a great surgeon to fix you up after getting in an accident, or not getting in the accident in the first place. I'll take option 2...

BHs can only beat the crap out of you if you manage to get on the terminals. Why not avoid the fight until your Jedi skills are advanced enough to take them on plus get good Jedi XP as a bonus? Your choice of maintaining a high CL is holding you back from advancing as a Jedi. Not anyone else.

The CU hasn't made it impossible, jus sit back, get a group with your guild, and enjoy yourself. That's all there is to it.

If you say it like that.. you dont deserve to be a jedi....

I have allways hated the current way to get jedi... Its to easy to get... after double xp i have allready filled 2 boxes since... I wish i only had filled ½ box... If you dont know how to get xp.. then you dont deserve to get jedi and then complain that you lose xp faster than you get...
