Thread: new Theory...

I would also doubt that there is any information client side.
However Sony is very unpredictable so I would like to know if you started as artisan. Your starting profession may be tied to the sequence of professions. Whatever profession you started asis where you begin your count. This could throw off how others are trying to determine if you theory holds water.
Previous masters could also throw off the calculations because they would be skipped when using a holo.
Just a couple of ideas to think about.
at least a few people have faith in me
but i still some what stand by it... like ive been saying though, why would it be an inventory file with only ure login in it, it makes no sense, and also, the way i see it, where is that LAST PLACE anyone would look for some code for fs.... in plain few. you all know this holds water that in some aspect, no one would ever figure that such a simple formula out in the open could possible be it
thats why im here, im testing this out because i think the devs decided why hide the code for fs and make it so hackers can eventually find it out and release it to everyone, when they can put it in perfect view of everyone in a form no one can understand.... i dont know, im almost master entertainer (thank god for macros) and should be ready to use my next holocron soon.
Sorry you dont like hearing that there are too many Jedi, but guess what? There are too many!!!
- The very concept that by simply being a Jedi you can walk over 10-20 other players in combat utterly destroys all the efforts made to create the other professions.
- It ruins originality. Everyone is a freaking jedi now. I'd guess they make nearly half the population now, as often as I see them running around rampant and unchecked.
- The time period is set to a time when there were very few Jedi. We dont even remotely reflect the per capita population of jedi to non jedi.
- Jedi arent special because everyone is jedi now.
- Star Wars was alot more then a bunch of glowy bats and whiney Jedi. What about the shady bounty hunters? The Han Solo type smugglers? The storm troopers? The resistance fighters? The other diversespecialties and characters? You cant have uber Jedi without someone to scale them. As it is... everyone is jedi so they're nothing special, and we're deprived of the diversity of the true Star Wars experience.
1. make the fs grind as hard as possible
2. nerf jedi down to the point that normal combat classes are much stronger than it
this is intended, of course. to scare off more casual players as well as those who want to be uber. in other words, jedi is now becomming something for power players who are willing to go through the hassle, instead of something for anybody smart enough to figure it out.

the problem is that originally there were only supposed to be a couple of jedi per server. maybe ten max. once the secret of holo grinding got out however, the numbers began to increase. the devs, knowing they couldn't stop the rush without pissing off a lot of players decided instead to delay it: they imposed the village system ensuringthat it would take at least 18 weeks (plus glowy time and the three waits for old man, sith, and second old man) for any more people to unlock jedi. this worked for a while, but six phases later the masses began poring in. while this new system took longer, it was also easier and required less actual playing time. so, with no way to stem the uncontrolled flow of people becomming jedi short of locking the gates (and most likely having to take back jedi from some who had already gained it as there were so many) and annoying many customers, they decided to accept the large number of jedi. after seeing how this class effected the game when its members existed in large numbers however, they realized that the huge numbers of jedi were upsetting the games balance. so they have adopted a new system. it consists of two steps:
1. make the fs grind as hard as possible
2. nerf jedi down to the point that normal combat classes are much stronger than it

I disagree. Jedi are not, and should not be pushovers.
That is both the way it should be, and also what is wrong with it.

Obviously my numbers are exagerated, but I dont have access to the actual numbers. I will tell you its looking very familiar to the days pre CU when everyone ran around with uber doc buffs and nothing but composite armor... now instead of uber buffs and comp armor, you have sabres and Jedi robes everywhere.
You may not think its a big deal, but if you PvP alot, let me tell ya... you will! Its bad enough to face one that is supposed to be 1.5x as hard to kill as you, but its another when you go up against 5... Trust me, I know.
Point is, the number of Jedi makes them nothing special. It makes them redundant and overpowered and utterly SUCKS the diversity and spice from the game.
Big problem if you ask me.

I'm not Jedi...... so you can't say everyone is, and if you don't want a lot of Jedi, don't become one, because I just read your post on how much fs xp it takes to cap... And not half the people are Jedi, on one server, because that is a known fact, I see maybe (on a normal day) 0-3 Jedi, that isn't a lot. I know a friend who went Jedi and it looks so cool, I've been wanting Jedi from day one, and that was in November of 03, so I started hologrinding (never finished a profession) and now I'm at this point now. I was getting no xp from the siths on dath, so answering the other post, no, this probably is here to stay, however sad it is.
I agree with what you are saying, however I would like to know what server you are on. On Kauri,in a 3 hour span I probably see 30-40 jedi. In a group of 8 pvpers, 6 of them will be jedi. I must admit I have a fotm template, so I can usually stand toe to toe with a jedi. I have no problem with the jedi population as of right now.
