Thread: Rumor? Lucas Arts to change way to getting jedi?
igota50 wrote:
I have heard through the grapevine that Lucas Arts is taking over and have in the works a plan to taking the FS village out entirely from the game.. As Far as I know this is rumor or is there some place on internet I can read something about this topic. I also hear something about a entirely different padawan type trials thing. Like Master and Apprentice training where a padawan will actually have to go back to a apprenticeship type dealy where he collects points while fighting with his master and possibly if a BH pulls a mission he has to fight off the apprentices master at least enough to kill the paddy... Any information that is constructive is hoped to be posted in response to this... I have 5 phases completed of fs village and lots of boxes to grind out and I dont want to change my build to grind out xp. I dont want to conform and like my build and feel I should be able to grind out to being a jedi without having to become a 0400 medical dancer that throws grenades at lairs.
i stopped reading there, its just a rumor, nothing else
I haven't had a bounty hunter come after me since group visibility was abolished. I don't run around flashing my saber at every turn, and I'm using my unlocked alt for PvP or NPC hunting until my main guy's ready. It's not hard to figure out now.

Oh you'd better get used to that. In fact, learn to love it. The FS is a walk in the park, the actual jedi grind is much worse. ~1k xp per kill, master boxes are 3.2 million xp. Grinding a row of anything requires a grand total of 3 million Jedi XP. Let's talk mastering a jedi profession.15.2 million jedi xp fora master profession, at 1k per kill.
Let's say you have an inspiration buff, and get 1300 xp per kill. That would be 11,693 pikets, bols, or whatever you hunt. That's only for 1 master. Like I said, learn to love grinding.
This post is actually very encouraging to me.I don't know how it was when you got FS, but currently I get about 216 FS xp per kill.
that means I will need to kill 33,333 dewbacks to get FS completed. If what you are saying is true, Jedi will be easier then the FS grind.

Except when you factor in BH's killing you and you lose 2k xp per skill point in jedi, or the fact that your dps is nothing like a normal profession, oh and did I mention negative xp is possible, up to -10million?
Its not easier than FS grind, period.

Hmm I fail to understand how I started a rumor when I simply asked. This reliable person is someone that happens to read articles pertaining to Star Wars Galaxies. I do not know where these articles are and all I ever see on boards is about people like rubick who have nothing better to do then harrass a thread that was simply asking if there was some legitimacy to the response someone gave me when I mentioned I hate grinding.
Now as for you guys saying I started a rumor? YOUR the one keeping this post at the top of this forum... I asked a question and I got a response. I did say he is a reliable source because he is a person that is very in depth with this game and seems knowledgable in all aspects of future expansions and hotfixes. He doesnt say he works for SOE or anything. OK now wait.
Remember when SOE was talking about changing group experience it was to split mob xp up by members of the group and give it a bonus. They happened to "accidentally implement this into live servers". Then people voiced there opinions on the forums and called SOE support and huddled up in towns cause major server lag. And SOE reversed the effects of the exp implementation. Just before that happened people were saying that Lucas arts was not happy with what was going on in star wars galaxies and was going to take over the game and just lease the servers that SOE has it already running on.
Now back to where I was at before because I felt I had to familiarize you with my situation. I have searched the internet and saw nothing about this. I took it as a rumor and continued grinding. Then I was told what I originally posted. I just asked if there was any cold hard truth to it . I did not ask Rubick to come to my thread and basically live there calling anyone who posted something that was constructive or helpful a stupid a$$ (didnt see that posted but didnt really read through anything that was negative but I can read between the lines). I thank anyone who posted constructively and actually read the original posting and took it for what it was worth.
In conclusion and probably my last post on this thread cause its lived long enough and frankly I'm tired of listening to people using this pretty much unmoderated part of the forum ( the ghetto section of forums) for them to just act immaturely. I brought this rumor up to attempt to confirm anything I asked because well it sounds like great ideas even if they are or arent rumors. People often just hear rumors and blow them off because those rumors either will make them angry cause it doesnt benefit them(Rubick) and sometimes rumors are looked at as good things because the rumor may sound like a beneficial idea.
Thanks for the constructive feed back.. And anyone who didnt offer anything constructive.. You know where you can go... and If your all ready there... I will call Hell Support and ask they terminate cut the internet line that feeds into hell.

I agree with you...when I was grinding FS to unlock I heard the same thing over and over. Then when I unlocked I got novice LS in like 1 hour LOL. IMO the Jedi grind is much easier to deal with than the FS grind if for not reason other than fact that you are now using a LS to grind with etc so it's much more rewarding and less boring. Plus you are learning a new profession and picking up new skills as you go etc. It gives you a nice second wind. Also since it is now possible to stay off the terms while getting 1Mil+ jedi xp a day(powergrinding all day in good AE groups)I find that BH have no effect on your grind unless you decide to get visibilty on purpose.
In other words don't believe anyone who says jedi grinding is much worse then FS grinding, especially after the combat xp to fs conversion nerf. At least not now in the post CU no group visiblity world.
good luck and have fun!!!
