Thread: How do you become a jedi?

there are 2 ways to become one:

You can either master all the professions until you have done the ones necessary (there are a few secretly selected profession you need to master to unlock your Jedi character) or you can get ahold of a holocron (sith or normal does not matter) which will tell you what profession you need to master next.

Holocrons can either be bought by other players or looted from certain NPCs.

Good luck!

Nooky,

In order to help you find players selling holocrons, we need to know which server you play on. Right now is actually a great time to find them, since SOE flooded the player base with holocrons as christmas gifts. If you just started your character today, you won't have one, and probably won't have enough to buy one for a while. I would just suggest you work on mastering your profession and/or any other professions you may want. Eventually, you will have enough skills or cash to get holocrons.

Currently accepted theory states you need to do 5 certain professions to unlock your slot. That would be 4 holocrons plus 1 you will need to find on your own. Your5th holocron, if you have one, should come up as silent. That leads to the "silent" profession which you have to discover by mastering random professions until you unlock. Some theories suggest that you need to do other things such as declare residence, do quests, join faction, etc....but there is no evidence for or against that yet.

Be aware, warned, and advised. Some people have become bitter jedi board trolls because they have been unlucky in unlocking their slots. Some people claim to have quit the game in their search, but still troll the boards to grief the ones that unlocked or ask for help in unlocking. DO NOT let these people discourage you.

Just to TRY to flame proof my own post, there are also people happily (and some not so happily) grinding through without succumbing to the anti-jedi griefer troll disease. These people will actually help you along your path.

Some will tell you not to bother because there is no high-end game. Don't worry about that. Have fun mastering professions, because so far that IS the fun of the game. Have fun playing the game, and make sure you make your OWN decisions before listening to the flamers, whiners, and griefers.

All I can say is...You have about 6 weeks before you can become a jedi.

Right now all current jedi got their jedi character by going through an old system that is now out of date, at least for someone in your position.

In the new system, which will go live with publish 10 in about 6 weeks, you will be doing quest from some npc somewhere. We dont know anything about the system yet. Other than it will be quest based. Upon completeing some of these quest you will more than likely be given either jedi xp which you use to purchase Force Sensativity skills, or you will be given the skills upon completeing the quest. Once you've spent 24 or more skill points(1 point per box) on force sensativity skills, your character then is able to take the padawan trials. Completing these will allow you to become jedi. I'm also assuming that completing these will unlock a second character that you can develop however you choose.

And to answer that last question, Force Sensative Character Slots were what we who went through the old system recieved when we completed our path to the force. The original system had holocrons which you used and they told you what profession to master next. After 4 holocrons your have to find your own path. Which basically means you just start mastering professions you havent done yet in hopes that its your secret profession.

Anyway, thats all I feel like typing on this subject =)...good luck to you.

Sorry pal, but those are useless now. You pretty much can't start becoming a jedi until release 10. Just wait it out.

Actually you can unlock your Jedi betweenPublish 9 andPublish 10, as all of us know. You will not be able to actually play that Jedi until Publish 10 comes out. However, if you haven't started yet, then I assume 6 weeks will be insufficient for the griding task. Unless of course you intend to play like 16 hours a day...

Its quest based as of Patch 10. I don't know when that patch comes out and I don't know what the quests are.

I do know that to unlock your FS slot you will have to get 24 FS skills before you can unlock but they haven't said how to earn the FS skills.
