LMAO Fleshlump!

Man... Now I wanna become a Jedi JUST so I can do that!!

F34R M3... LOL!

Actually, I've heard that Bounty Hunters can get jedi missions, and that's pretty far out. I dig it though, cause Vader was hiring BHs to hunt people down. I don't envy anyone being a jedi, even a l337 one.

well when I see a jedi running about i will believe it, anyway there will have to be a few hundred jedi and Sith to get Galaxies a bit more like Star Wars dont you think?

More Star Wars you say? Yeah, even though the Jedi are supposed to be near-extinct and there should be less than 10 of them in existance.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the path to becoming a Jedi is to slaughter thousands of force sensitive beings?

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Yes, but you'd make yourself go clinically insane if you tried to master them all.

we got a handful of clinically insane people in this game then.....

and sorry to be rude, bu its intentional, you're a newbie in this game, dont even try getting holocrons or grinding your way to fscs, because theres just a bit more to it that than, because so many have done more than the jedis have and not obtaned it, just go play the game, wait till ur pissed at it, then get jedis

we dont need anymore ignorant folks(not trying to be mean, but ignorant in the idea that you havent really been playing long enough to have a grasp on everything) searching out holos, spamming town, go ot my vendor to help me master merchant crap etc

I think what would be nice, if it hasnt been done before, give a new player, or create a new player, or have someone from another server make a new player. . . . . .give them a holocron, before even stepping foot in the xp treadmill and see what it says.

Hell if you got 7 to spare, try all 5 starting proffessions and see what they all say, the other 2 are for repeat starting professions to see if they all say the same thing.

just a thought

My friends..My comrades..I don't think you've answered the man's question very well

In order to become a Jedi, you must A) Have a CRAP LOAD of time on your hands, B) Have a CRAP LOAD of patience, C) Have access to a lot of caffeine, D) Become a Bounty Hunter with LLC 4 or Commando with Flame 4, E) Be a Master Creature Handler and tame two graul maulers, and F) Camp the Force Crystal Caves until your eyes can no longer be kept open by any force known to man so you can get a Holocron. Sometimes you can just do choice G: Get insanely lucky by mastering random professions and finally getting it, as some who have posted here have said they're doing.

By the way, Holocron drop rates have been nerfed in the last patch, as has the spawn of FS NPC's (Oh, it has!), so it's know even MORE difficult for even a single Holo to drop..Yay!

I'm happy for those who are jedi's now. Gratz !!!!

I’m here to express my opinion, about becoming a jedi. Having to master 4 to 5 professions (forgot how many) is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. The only people becoming jedi’s are the Power Gamers. It ought to be by quest, faction points, and etc. It should be towards the game play, story line and not mastering professions. Just so it can not be repeated, have these events (quest, etc) be dynamic. Just my 2 cents and let the talks begin...

I have to agree, when I first started I tried talking to NPC's and doing all their little mission, exploring areas that I hadn't been to, etc. That's how I think that FS slots should be unlocked not mastering professions by doing the profession grind method. Power Gamers are the only ones that can get holos and then they're the only ones that can afford to do the profession grind to the FS slot. No role-playing involved, not even a little bit. Definatly not the way it should be

I think that you are correct.

I think that the current process does not lend itself to balancing. Right now a select few are able to loot holo's and the rest are standing on the outside looking in. In order to get the 3-4 holos needed to determine your path, you will need 30-40 million credits, which is difficult to come by even for most average crafters, or violate the EULA and purchase them off e-bay for $300-1000.

From the begaining the devs had talked about not allowing people to sell items on ebay. From a past Diablo player, if there is items that can only obtained in the game via loot, there is demand to sell, and buy. If there is demand people will sell them on e-bay. That demand causes cheating. Belive me before long there will be cheats out there, then the market will be flooded with Holo's just so people can make a living off of e-bay.

The only way to prevent the sale on e-bay is to eliminate the demand. If they opened up the slot for everyone and made it fair for everyone then there would be no demand, and it would squash this frenzy. People that want to be jedi's could and those that do not could do other things. I am sure that the initial rush of jedi's would be huge, but it would even out after people figure out how difficult it is to keep your character alive and people would go back to playing the game like they want

I know you could concivably open the slot with out the use of holocrons, but to do that you would have to master every profession and could possible take you upwards of a year.

Dev's I beg of you. Make it fair for everyone, give everyone and equal chance to achive their dream.

I have to disagree on having to buy holocrons. If you're determined and willing to grind through 10+ professions Surely you can spenda little time getting holocronsbyjust gettingcommando. master marksman/unarmed ivand up to flame specialization IVin commandowilltake 2 daysat most. 3-4 days if you don't have time to play a lot.

Once you get flame single 2 it's go time for FS npcs. The only money spent is on weapons and travel (armor is totally optional)

While you kill FS npcs you can kill the grassland voritors in between each FS spawn you find.Master commando just for the kicks. And believe me it's a fun class to master, you might not want to give it up.

Handy tip: get some friends in this game, trustworthy friends and hunt with them for holos. You can't trust everyone, but luckily I've got some RL friends who play as well as new ones I've met in game that are just great people.

However I agree with the original post, it would be much better if it was tied to epic quests and deeds.
