Ok lets look at some basic facts here. SWG is infact a game. Unless you absolutly want no freedom what-so-ever to do and become what you want then what is the point of playing? Jedi are a major part and icon of Star Wars and while the game was made to follow the storylines it was also made to make money for both Lucasarts and Soney. A good 40%+ of the people who got SWG was just to become a Jedi. Now since each of us are paying customers and desurve equal rights they can not make a system where only a few select (even if its random) people are able to become a Jedi.

So if you want a MMO that is follows the SW storyline and EU to a fine point. You can become a stormtrooper and stand guard for hours on some imperial base that no one has heard of because you are not allowed to make any changes or effects in the galaxy becuase that person was never there in the storyline.

If you like being able to take part in battles give you a feeling like your creating your own destiny and taking part in large battles while effecting the outcome then you need to back off from storyline a bit to give the players freedom. Naboo was never under Rebel control, but to give the community more control in some of the SWG galaxies it is.

If you ask me they should of made this New Republic time era. There are Jedi, and only the major characeters have any influence. It would follow the story closely while giving the players the freedom they need to make a game.

True, but Han, Leia, Chewie, Lando, etc proved you don't have to be a Jedi to affect the outcome of the war. If you started playing this game with the sole purpose of becoming a Jedi in an era where the are no Jedi then you're playing the wrong game. I have nothing against the players going for Jedi. It's the Dev's fault. They could have made an interesting game and never included Jedi. Why does there have to be one uber profession in a MMORPG? Other games make it through with a well balanced system that includes no uber profs. Why does this one have to include Jedi where there should be none?

I agree they should have made it a different timeline. There's a lot of things the devs SHOULD do but don't.

Yeah...that sounds about right. The force-dead individuals as you call 'em have made numerous appearances in the CU. The Vong are just the most numerous and the most vicious. The Myrkyr things were used by Talon Karrde when he was still a bad guy in the way back (shortly after the formation of the New Republic if I'm not mistaken) to trick and capture the Solo kids (I think). Mara Jade was working for him and Luke and she weren't married yet. As far as the midichlorians go, I've never seen an explanation on what these thing actually are. Just from watching the Phantom Menace, I took it as they were little microbes that enable a person to attune to the Force and the more you had in ya, the stronger you could become....which irked me. I think the lack of mention they have received was a direct result of the acknowledgement by George that he should have just left the science behind the Force alone and left it mystical and all that.

I have to agree with you there; the science behind the Force should have been left right out, but if you take the implication that the Midichlorians are a byproduct of the Force, then the mysticism remains intact.

In a dynamic field application like the Force, there is no way to measure the Force itself scientifically. Then one day someone discovers these microbial symbiotes that exist in all Force-sensitives out there, and says, "Lo! I have discovered a means of measuring the Force in Beings!" And everyone in the universe applauds.

It juts makes more sense to me that they are the byproduct, not the source. Fits with the tidbits in the movies as well.

Again I have to agree, and in specific the suggestion that the Jedi profession be rescaled and a new timeline made.

Jedi do not need to be gamebreakers, nor do we need to be 00ber 1337. Just rescale the Jedi profession to be inline with other professions, including the xp requirements, and everone should be happy. Jedi should be able to do more, but not to such a level that they become PvP gods. Okay, they are an all-in-one profession, but that doesn't mean it should take a year to grind one up.

[kicks the modem] You hearing me out there "developers"? You paying any attention?

Of course not.

well we now have our answer, with the release of Episode 3 we know that it is possible that a few Jedi escaped the cleansing of the clones and order 66.
