Thread: The 30:1 fix *EXPLAINED*

I may be mistaken, but listen to this...
Lets do the math...
175,000 + 250,000 + 350,000 + 450000 = 1,225,000 exp for one complete branch.
1,225,000 x 6 = 7,350,000FS exp to complete the fs grind.
7,350,000 x 30 = 220,050,000 standard exp.
Ponder that for a moment. 220 MILLION standard exp needed to reach jedi with the new 30:1 ratio.
So, After phase 4 is complete, all we Valcyners will gogrind in Oasis Paradise 24/7. I do it for about...oh, 5 hours a day and get maybe 600k, depending on if I happen to get a good group. And 600k on a good day, mind you.
Listen closely here...say i play for 5 hours each and every day and get exactly600k exp every day. Ok?
220,050,000 / 600,000
366 3/4 days.
366.
THREE-HUNDRED AND SIXTEY-SIX DAYS. Each and every one, sitting in this chair killing dewbacks.
I do not call that difficult. I call that INSANELY BORING.
At that rate, by the time i get Jedi Initiate i will be STARTING MY JUNIOR YEAR, and my sophomore year hasnt even STARTED yet.
You cannot tell me to stop complaining now. This is insane.
I demand a fix.
And, for the record, why not boost the needed Jedi exp? That way, many people will be jedi, but it would take dedicated time and effort to become powerful at all.
Keep this at the top of the page. This is very impotant information.
Im in the Valcyn Galaxy, i am Zarcanet Balaboa.
2 lazy to read the rest of the thread cause its going to be a bunch of whiners..... this may sound harsh but it sucks to be you... i was a pre cu fs grinder and got done the day before, true its not fair we had it easy and u have it hard but thats life ya no?

But sir, i find it appauling that you would call a sophomore a "child." I am 15 and find these years the hardest and most difficult school years of my life. I do not appreciate being lowered to the status of a 2 year old.
You ARE a child. You are a minor, you do not support yourself, and in fact you're 5 years younger than my own child.
Don't presume an adulthood you have yet to earn. If you think high school is tough, you are going to be in for one very rude awakening when you get out into the REAL world.
If you don't make your schoolwork a priority over this game, you're going to have an even tougher time. It's gonna be real hard supporting a gaming habit on "would you like to Supersize that for 39 cents more?"

And in the eyes of the state, and even, guess WHAT, SoE, you are a minor until such time that you are 18 years of age. I also have heard stories of people out there that were highly immature until that time when they turned 18; of course, there are people out there that 18 is just another day for them and they are just as immature.
Take it for what is meant, to anyone older than you, you will always be a child until such a time that your prove yourself worthy of 'adult' status in their eyes.
OT: If anyone in here is on Corbantis, I'm going to be working out of the MO to get me some more credits. I'll be happy to group up with you, and inevitably, help you grind jedi by making the stuff easier to kill.
To be honest, I would prefer if they put a 1 year requirment to even gain access to the village, but that would go over well at all. Their are too many new jedi showing up that don't even know where some very common POI's are located, because they never had to play the game to get it. The path to Jedi should be long and HARD, it should not be easy or even a known path. It should be different for every player and it should include several series of quests that you have to actually think about to complete. Right now the system is so simple that anyone who has the time can become a Jedi and I don't like it that way.

Sheesh. Most 15 year olds believe themselves to be mature relative to their age. Most personsof a more advanced age believe that 15 year olds are immature. There, now we got that out of the way. Pretty groundbreaking stuff, I know. Not very relevant to this problem though.
OP: I am guessing that you are relatively new to the game...this really is a grinding-centric game, so you can usually spot the new players by the fact that they haven't figured out the best grinding methods. This is not a crime. The combat xp conversion change sucks, but I stress again that this currently isn't your biggest problem. As has been said before, you need to find ways to grind better/faster. Doing so will not necessarily decrease the amount of fun you have. You will be grinding pretty much no matter what you do, so you might as well do it well. Here are some things to keep in mind:
-Find the hotspots on your server for group grinding. Lok is pretty popular on most servers, and Dantooine MO probably is too. Even if you want to grind somewhere else, it may be a good idea to go to one of these two places just to get the group together.
-Try to get yourself into a group of players with similar CLs. It is okay to have a few lower levels along, but generally the best groups are with playersof similar level. It is a common misconception that you MUST have a level 80 or two in the group for the best xp...often times this will actually slow you down (unless most of the group is CL 80). Your personal xp gain depends on YOUR level, not the group's level.
-If you can get into a good AOE group, you will be a very happy camper. A good group probably has one or two very good tanks that can also deal AOE damage. They also need a good healer or two. If you are not one of these types, figure out how you can best help the group so that you aren't just an extra wheel. Make sure you hit every mob at least once, which can be harder than it sounds in a powerful group.
-If you are in an ordinary (non-AOE) group, make sure you are killing a constant stream of mobs. Some people are brilliant at pulling the mobs and timing it so that there is always some action, but never too much. Some people are lousyat it...they either pull too many at once, or they do not pull them quickly enough.
-Make sure you know your strengths. Sounds obvious, but many people simply shoot-shoot-shoot, or whack-whack-whack. You need to find out how to help your group kill stuff faster. For example, maybe you have an Armor Break skill. Hit a mob early with an AB, and the rest of your group can kill it that much faster. KD a mob, and he takes more damage while he is on his back (and if you see a mob on his back, hit him with your best shot). AB a mob, then KD it. Or maybe you just need to Root every once in a while, so your rifleman can take a breather.
-Get yourself an inspiration buff. In the long run, that extra 10% will get you finished 700k FSxp faster.
-Try to make sure your group is full. This grants and additional xp bonus (I do not know the rates)
-Try to make sure everyone in your group is participating. If 2 or 3 group members are constantly afk or simply standing their chatting to their friends, your progression will be that much slower. Socializing is great and everyone needs a potty break, of course, but you don't need dead weight.
-Phase 4 in the village. In a good group, the xp is really nice. It is also a bit more fun than ordinary grinding, in my opinion, and you may even get some decent loot. Plus, you will be standing right next to Paemos half the time, so converting xp is a snap. Some people live in the village during Phase 4, so finding a group should not be a problem.
Hope this helps you a little bit. If you follow these principles, you will exponentially increase your xp gains.
