The old man and the sith appear only when you dont need them to or want them to. for instance on my first char i was going to the warren and trying to rush to help people get through when i was jumped by the sith. The old man seems to know when you want him to come so just train or whatever when he appeared to me the first time i was grinding up to master fencer and he appeared so as soon as I was done fighting i could talk to him. Just play the game as you normally would (outside the NPC cities) and he should be there soon

After 2 days...FINALLY the old man has commeth! Now waiting on those sith...

Hey i got visited by the old man he gave me the crystal and while i was in my town with guildies the sith attacked but my guildies attacked first and they looted them so this person said destroy the crystal so i did and waited for the old amn again well wile i was by my self hunting the sith just attack again i kill them and loot and get the disk. well when i trie to use it it says.....You must loot that object before extracting any information from it.. im so confused i thought the old man was suppose to come back. What do i do?

you weren't suppose to destroy the crystal, i think you need to go to the village and get a crystal again...but you don't have the wp to the villlage

i get glowy yesterday and have been visited by the old man today but he didnt give me a crystal
so will he come again or
will the sith come without i having a crystal

It is my understanding that he will return after 48 hours. It could have changed, though.
Oddly enough I saw two old men at the Imperial Outpost on Dantooine today. One was just outside and the other was in the landing area for the shuttle. Weird, as I always thought he avoided these "urban" areas. I asked him and "wasn't the one he was waiting for."
