The main thing I dislike now is that they have extended getting the second slot until after reaching Padawan, & then making it so you can never drop it
Not exactly. There is a way to drop your padawan. From the Jedi FAQ:
Re-rolling: The second slot (non-Jedi character) is tied to your slot with the Jedi character. As long as you have a slot with a Jedi character the other slot can be re-rolled (delete the character and create a new one) as many times as you want. However, you can never re-roll your Jedi character though, that is unless you make the character on your other slot also a Jedi as well, at which point your could re-roll your first Jedi character (but it would not be re-rolled as a Jedi).

Yeah, I mentioned this as one of the options above. This is possible, but rerolling your char is different then simply dropping Padawan with the existing char...& you run the risk of someone using your name before you can get it back. Basically it's a player work-around to fix a problem SOE refuses to address.
But for those players who really want to get their mains back unaltered, this is probably one of the best solutions out there.

Blahhhh
I'm stuck with 2 Jedi slots...
I'm gonna wait 'til the CU just to be sure i can't rebuild a new non-jedi template with my main, then i'll reroll it (and lost my precious Cries Of Alderaan badges :cries
BTW, anyone knows how long it takes before being able to recreate a character with the same name as the one you just deleted ?
I've tried ona different server and it's been over a week now with the server telling me "this name has already been taken"...
(And i'm 100% sure nobody took it)

/disagree
having an elite template to start with helps out enormously....if you get into a pinch, you can switch weapons. 'nuff said.

Worst
Idea
Ever.
It makes no sense at all. Just reading it almost caused my head to explode.
For those that don't like ropelplaying:Maybe you shouldn't be playing a Massive Multiplayer Online ROLE PLAYING GAME!

Listen newb,
You never played back then, and have no knowledge of back then, some people looked forward towards it, and you have no experience with it, and from the looks of it, your just a 13 day old poster, so you most likely have no idea what your talking about.

Listen, I'm no noob, and your idea is moronic. There areabout 1,000otherthingsthatneed fixing in this game and this isn't one of them. Everytime I think about this issue I lose brain cells.
Good day to you sir....

this isnt a fix, rather a 'rollback'. It used to be like this for some people, and people who have been playing 1 yr+ have known what i mean. I dont think this idea is moronic, just resentful. I would like it to be implemented, but i know it wont, i would actually appreciate it if people let this thread die, i knew what would happen, and thats understandable.
I thank all who have participated in this discussion, just let it end.....

... really, I think it might not be so bad on one condition. They actually did as was stated prepatch, which was that once you unlocked on your character, you could, if you wanted, drop FS and rebuild your old template, and then have the new slot you could use to unlock Jedi and go through the whole FS grind again. I really think that option was a fairly good one, as that way those who were really devoted to their character would be able to retain them.
