And don't equip any piece of armor, ubese or PSG.
Standard clothes are ok if you fear viz from the robe (and you don't need force anyway until novice LS).
P.S.: How can you be surprised by the facts you mentioned ? Hundreds of people whining in this forum about novice Jedi can't be wrong, can they ?
Don't be overwhelmed when you have met your first BH and lost exp worth a couple of grinding days.

Congrats. Funny description of the training saber. Quick question. Once you unlock do you lose all your non-force skills. (i.e. doctor, Tera Kasi etc.) Or do you have to gradually drop them as you get Jedi related boxes?

I just wanted to say hello. I crafted my first training LS last night. I couldn't finish the padi quests because it was too late. But expect to see me around now.

I am a new Jedi (hurrah!) and have read a fair bit of the Jedi FAQ (http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=jedi&message.id=473607) which is fairly comprehensive, but I am still a fairly new player and have managed to muddle through with the help of friends and guides but some of what is in the FAQ doesn't read like English to me yet so I was wondering if anyone could sum up what I need to know (well just the basics!) or can give me any tips.
How do I progress to Jedi knight and when do I get to pick if I am a light jedi or dark jedi? And how does that affect GCW?
Thanks

i have yet to do ne knight trials but i do belive that when u select to do ur trialsu decide if u wanna do ur light or dark trials (similar but slightly diff set for each) and how it effects us that Dark Knightsare constantly overt imperials and Light Knights are constant over Rebels so depending on which side u are now or which side u wanna be on will affect ur choice

That's not true, because what if the player was nuetral? I don't see how that would work for thedark side and light side must be two different factions. And you decide which side I believe in the middle of your knight trials. Anyways! First you need to spend 206(I think) skillpoints on Jedi skill boxes. Once you have done that you have to wait 24 hours or so for the old man to come to you to let you start the Knight trials.

Actually no.
At 206 sp you get an onscreen message box. You then must locate your particualr shrine (you are given the planet but not the coords) then kneel and meditate and you are given the first trial.
After killing the graul marauder you are given an onscreen box to choose light or dark. If you are the wrong faction for your choice itll say you cant do that go meditate ata shrine to choose again. Once chosen you have to complete the trials for light dark you chose, if you swap factions you wont be able to continue the trials and cannot reset.

To progress to Jedi Knight, you have to have at least 235 *I think*(that includes your FS skills) in jedi skills. Once that happens, you get a message saying that you can start the trials and togo to this shrine on this planet, blah, blah, blah. You meditate at the shrine, and it gives you your first trial. After the 6th trial (if I remember correctly), then you decide which faction you want to go. How does that affect the GCW? It doesn't really, your just another overt (perma) runnin around lookin for people to kill (preferably other opposite faction Knights) to progress thru the FRS. But no need for that, fight club ruins that idea. Let's leave that to another thread, shall we!
