if you don't like the grind, then become a crafter or dancer or doc.

Becoming a jedi is supposed to be a long and difficult journey.

I find a challenge fun in the gaming experience. I wish for nothing to be easy or given to me for free.

If you can't make it through the FS grind then you will never make it through the Jedi grind.

Maybe you should have said "Becoming a jedi is supposed to be a long and boring as hell journey." Then you would have a point.

If, instead you said that SWG is a game and therefore should be FUN and maybe the jedi xp grind crap failed miserably at being fun, you would also have a point.

See, I think most of you chest beaters don't understand that difficulty is not what most people complain about with the jedi grind, it's the tedium, the pure boredom associated with it. In reality I wouldn't mind if it took me six months to do, if I were doing something fun and entertaining. Some of you think this is some kind of endurance test to see if you are man enough to sit at your keyboards for 6-9 hours a day grinding jedi xp. The other half of you are complaining because there are too many jedi and you want to be elite and it makes you mad that 1000 other jedi are running around. Gimme a break.

ORIGINAL POSTER:

Also I think its FS exp you are complaining about, not JEDI exp...that will make the FS grind look silly.

Just grammatical there, and a chasm of difference in time investment.

I actually did get your point in the first message you posted that the developers replaced one type a grind with another type of grind in the game.

I use to play this game about 3 or 4 times a week and quiet often on the weekends. However, I am now a casual player myself and only play on the weekends about 2 to 4 hours and once or twice during the weekdays if I am lucky.

While I get your point the problem with post like these is that while you pointed out all of the negative things about the new force sensitive system. You mentioned very little positive things about it.

Back then I knew nothing or little about the old system but I do remember one phrase that would appear over and over again, “Grinding professions that we don’t want”. Afterwards which I found out that you originally had to master 4 secret professions in order to become Jedi Pawan. By the way, this was in addition to the holocron professions that you had to master. Seemed like a good idea on paper. The problem was that too many people were grinding. So, in order to keep this in check the developers raised the number of secret professions that you had to master in order to obtain a status. Last know you had to master 3 holocron professions and then afterwards master 8 out of 32 secret professions with the old system.

In contrast the new system rather than keeping your player character stagnate actually gives your player character a chance to evolve not to mention that you don’t have to master a profession that is not interesting or desirable.

I also remember that before to master a profession you needed exactly 620 apprentice points. Meaning that you had to train someone either in that or some other profession in order to obtain them which caused quite a number of people running around training in AP.

The new system I think has at least abolished if not almost completely stamped this behavior out. Furthermore, with the release of publish 11 the apprentice point requirement was lowered to 300 instead of the 620 which was previously required.

In short the developers have mentioned over and over that game systems like these are an ongoing development in progress. Also, of course that nothing is ever going to be perfect. The way I see it, there are two choices. Give up and say that the game has beaten me, or stick with it and over come all obstacles.

Also, there are other ways to obtain the experience points needed to obtain your goal as mentioned in previous post by those who monitor and participate in the forums. The trick is to find which works best for you.

I did it with fencer for the most part, rofl was cake!

Oh and, if u dont like the fs grind, u WONT like the jedi grind. Jedi isnt for casual players, just u can get it with being a casual player, just takes longer (no crap sherlock).

THe commando way= Grind a tree in a day

Every other profession= You can do a tree every 3 weeks EASY!

Oh and when u get jedi, imagine 1 buff 3hr buff run to get your novice box, 3 buff runs to get ur 1st box, 5-7 for your 2nd, and 8-10 for your third. And those are the easy boxes to get, then u get the 4th 1.6 mill box! WOOOWEEEE. Jedi, not for nubs.
