sdangelo;
in regards to part of your post:
<<It is worth noting that any combat grind where you harvest should get you at 30k of Scout XP each session, so there's a bonus of 3.75k FS XP in the sense category each time you go to trade in your combat XP.>>
Scout xp will max out before you are 1/4 the way thru grinding 900K weapons xp. it climbs very fast (up to 800 or more per rancor, using a level 19 Wasteland Cu Pa for me).
Scouting xp should not be maxed at 30K, something like 75K to even 100K would make it more equitable.
It's one of the few things pure combat types can use to apply to Heightened Senses, one other being Creature Handliing.
(I, like you, almost dismiss trapping except for Master Rangers, and there aren't many of them.)

Okay. I updated the numbers for a X34 to be at 1800 XP per craft.
As for comparison in cost and time, I think this really all depends on who you are and what you like to do. If you hate crafting or find it hard to get money, the crafting path is ominous. If you hate combat grinding, that path seems ominous. If you're really good at combat grinding or if you're rolling in money some path may seem better to you.
But for sake of numeric comparison, here's some food for thought...
A combat focused player that can get 900k weapons XP per buff set (300k per hour) will be able to fill a branch in about 60 hours of work (20 sets of buffs). Let's work out the cost.
This makes a total for the combat branch at 720k credits if you accept my math. (BTW, the math isn't woth arguing over. I'm just putting in something for comparison.)
A crafting player using the DE crafting approach fills a branch in about 20 hours of work at a cost of 3 million units of resources. If bought on the market this would be 6 million credits. If you harvest yourself, this is a cost of about 750k credits. Travel costs are hard to estimate here. In theory it can be near zero if you stay in the Village.
That means you fill a branch in 1/3 the time for the same number of credits if you harvest yourself. Or 4 times the credits if you buy the materials. If you can find a way to make credits with the 40 hours you save, this can be a better deal.
A combat player that can get 900k weapons XP twice in a set of buffs (600k per hour) is about the absolutely best grind I've heard people claiming to be able to maintain. This fills a branch in 30 hours of work (10 sets of buffs). Using similar math as above, the cost here is about 540k.
The comparison here is thinner, with crafting only being 2/3 of the time for 1.4 times as many credits. Personally, I've never been able to get anywhere near this XP rate in combat, but if you can then the combat path looks good.
Best of luck,
Teev.

- 20 sets of buffs @ 10k = 200k
- 4 weapons used up @ 15k = 60k (assuming good but not great weapons)
- 1 suit of armor used up @ 200k = 200k (60 hours of fighting can beat up a suit of Composite).
- 20 round trips to an adventure planet then to Dath @ 5k = 100k
- Speeder repairs @ 3k per buff set = 60k
- Entertainer tips for BF healing @ 5k per buff set = 100k (assuming you tip your entertainers... which not everyone does)

I made an X34 two weeks ago and only got 1,600 XP... not the 1,800 that SWG Craft says. Perhaps they changed the XP reward on this at some point? Are you getting 1,800 now on X34's?
Thanks,
Teev.
Yes I centainly do get 1800 Xp for making X-34's. (1890 Xp in practice)

If your looking for medical xps as a MCM just find a lair a tap it until you get around 10 baddies surrounding you and start area health poisining them over and over. You'll get your 80k max in less than a half hour. If your looking to grindby crafting advanced bio's is the best, but it's not as fast as the lair approach.

Ok I figured if you did only the combat ones (combat prowess and enhanced reflexes) it would cost 4.9 million FS xp for the 4 combat prowess branches. Thats roughly 147 million weapons xp. (Not inlucding combat xp).
So if you where to say turn in 1.8 million weapons xp a day (which is a little over 177k of combat xp) youll get 60k FS xp from weapons xp and 59k FS xp from combat xp. Thats 119k FS xp. Each branch will cost 1,225,000 FS xp to complete the branch. Thats 11 trips of full weapons xp and the 177k of combat xp. In this case 11 days to do each branch. If each phase comes every 3 weeks (21 days), You could have all four of these branches within 12 weeks. Now youll still need 2 more branches. If you choose the enhanced reflexes it will cost 2.45 million FS xp which is 73.5 million weapons xp (again not including combat xp).No heres where things will differ as you only need 2 branches so there will be differences between finsihed dates. Pick the branches in phase 1 and 2 and you will be finsihed with it by the latest of the 18th week. Choose the 3rd and 4th however and you wont finsih until the 24th week. What fun eh?

The Best way to grinding FS XP is in crafting:
Droid Engineer 0 0 0 3 Working in Advanced Droid Frame Unit. You can store 240K DE XP = 48K FS XP (5:1)
In practice mode, give you 462 DE XP
150 steel
70 fiberplast.
Is the best way to work looking Cost/time

I agree. It's pretty much the best path... and it's pretty low on skill point costs for many crafters (other than Tailor and Chef) because DE is based on the Eng tree just like Architect, Armorsmith, and Weaponsmith are.
Best of luck,

Which is technically quicker, the Grenade Combat XP 3:1 or the 900k/90k weapon/combat xp grind?

technically the grenade method is quicker... but since i am TKM/Master Fencer/ swords, i wont be giving up my melee anytime soon. I will want to see what happens when they revamp combat profs, and then see the overall picture as to whether ranged or melee is best suited for the force XP grind.

Hi there,
Could anyone offer me some advice, please?
I'm trying to grind 1-handed melee and combat xp to convert into force xp, but I'm only getting around 350k per hour, hunting naffs. I've read here that some people are actually reaching 900k per hour?! Could you tell me how and where and what to hunt? My best combat profession is fencer 0-4-2-2 as I'm throwing all the xp I earn into the FXP conversion.
Any advice would be eternally appreciated

Bumpity bump bump for people to find.
It would be nice to have a thread with favorite combat grind locations somewhere. Anyone got such a compiled list? If so, post here or drop me a PM with the thread.
Thanks,
Teev.
