Thread: Solution to Casual Player grind
Sounds like WoW to me, though the one good idea to come from them in my opinion. Give an XP bonus for a period of time playing after a long time fallow (off the server). Like their double xp for a few hours in any given week.
Hell, if the first four hours anyone played in a given week were double xp, that would be pretty cool. Nice for everyone, but really takes some of the edge off the disparity between the casual and power gamers.
Log in only 8 hours a week... get (4x2) + 4 hours worth xp = 12 hours worth of gaming
Log in 16 hoursa week get (4x2) + 12 giyrs = 20 hours worth xp
Log in 36 hoursa week (yikes!) = (4x2) + 32 = 40 hours worth xp.
The casual gamer isn't rewarded, they are just proportionately less behind than they might be otherwise.

I have a life too and just don't see how this kind of approach would be equitable at all. I don't want any special treatment because I don't have time to play as much as others. That's just life and the way it is.
My path to Jedi is going to be very, very long; it's already been over a year on one character. If you want the grind to go quickly, then figure out to spend more time online, have a friend play your toon or just get used to the idea that you will get there when you get there and quit covetting the quick gratification.
This whole concept seems like the new-fangled "everyone's a winner" bs going around in some schools about competition being bad and everyone who plays should be given the same rewards and accolades. Utter nonsense...
