Hardly, KOTOR would be awesome, this game is like a cheap knock off of KOTOR online (Which is hard to do since there is no KOTOR online.) Right about the hints thing. New Tutorial all the Imp officers talk about how special you are, and that the emperor himself is taking interest in you, and the pirate you kill is after you spefically now. And to top it all off, two L500 Dueling Jedi at the end. Now you can get 4 out of 5 content badges doing the noob quests in Eisley since that's fixed. Guess the dev's figure, hook em on Jedi, make reachin Force Senstive quick and easy, and then bleed them for as much money as they can get while they grind for Jedi.

QFE: You're right in their thinking of course, the only problem is - this gives the game a limited life span - something no other MMO has. If their goal is to hook everyone to grind Jedi, everyone will be Jedi (I HIGHLY doubt new players will all be flocking here for the Jedi experience.)

Sales are down for a full year. Look for yourself. They're desperate, even if it means destroying what Star Wars is all about!

I should add, ToonTown Online, (chart 3,) is increasing in numbers at a remarkable rate since launch. Maybe that's where all the bored Jedi are going.

I don't wanna be a Jedi anymore. I wanne be Donald!

Yeah, been morbidly cuoris about that ever since I heard of. Dropping anvils on each other might be a kick.

Do u think this is an rpg anymore, i dont see that many badges on ppl anymore, or quests they have done, i just see 2 maybe 3 elite badges and everyone grinding like hell to get jedi.

what does everyone think is gonna happen when frs gets turned back on its gonna be one hell of a fight, PVP will have a new meaning on that day i tell u cos anyone that got to jedi and didnt get knacked in some way or other is gonna be ready for knight trials.

what are all your thoughts on this and the way our game has evolved from swg to mmo knights of the republic jedi force.

Well if you are referring to just quests and badges then no this more of an adventure game because the vast majority of the quests are as much of a grind as gaining XP, there are very few that are rewarding. As far as Role Playing is concerned, I'm on Kettemoor and Starsider, I know kett has roleplaying but I don't choose to RP there and Starsider has got a ton of Roleplaing and that's all I do.

The first thing I did with my new toon was all the POIs, then I grinded to master, then I did all the content badges. Its what is fun for me....exploring is the biggest part of any game. My main has almost 100 but its not from the lack of exploring its due to not grinding professions.

I think it would be more of an RPG if there was more mystery to achieving Jedi (or any other prof for that matter). Make quests a requirement for advancing to the next level in anything. That would be more content by definition, more immersion, and of course, more coding for the devs. So don't expect this any time soon...

/sarcasm on

INSTANT FIX: Move the timeline back ONE episode. Instead of being supposedly between Ep IV & V, move it between Ep III & IV - The Great Jedi Purge. There's already a few too many Clone Relics around for the current time period. Just add a few old school elite clone troopers (with Order 66) to augment the up and coming storm troopers and call it done. Re-do the Rebel and maybe the Imperial themeparks and put Luke & Leia in diapers.

/sarcasm off

You guys make me want to go back to playing single player RPGs.

Also when you say this is turning into KOTOR online, please remember that KOTOR is simply THE BEST Star Wars game ever.

And while im at it, move the timeline along, I want Luke whooping up on IMPs , not wearing the dump orange flight suit and handing out schems for a piece of junk blaster.

I played KOTOR for about 30 minutes before I packed it up and sold it at a "video game pawn shop" for 6 bucks.

I didn't buy this game at release ever expecting or wanting to play a Jedi. I could care less about Jedi to be honest. Its a PvP class, and PvP in this game sucks. I would be perfectly happy if they removed all the Jedi from the game entirely - it would be a better game for it.

I know that will not happen. SOE has too much at stake with letting players become Jedi, and you can almost guarantee it will become a steadily easier process - so that they get increased sales. Eventually, it will be a starting class if you buy the "Jedi Expansion" that they will offer. This is pretty much a requirement because their new players come to the game expecting to play a Jedi from scratch - they are no doubt disappointed that they can't start as one - and more disappointed when they discover how long it will take them. Eventually the feedback from disgruntled players will see the marketing people pushing for Jedi as a Starter class. I would bet on it.

There is only possible solution to the dilemma of everyone playing a Jedi character and the fact that you should never see a Jedi given the Canon of the stories. They need to make it so you seldom see a Jedi, unless you are playing your Jedi. If its dangerous to be in cities (NPC or Player) and be overt, if its dangerous to be seen by non-Jedi, if BHs are capable of taking on Jedi but Jedi no longer suffer an exp penalty, but if you are not playing a Jedi you don't ever see one on a typical play session, then it might be feasible. We need teams of say 40 CL80 NPC Assault troops who will attack any Jedi who uses their LS or powers in a public place. A guaranteed loss if you do so in other words. I think Jedi should not be part of the CGW but be given their own type of mission that requires them to be covert. I personally think they should not be allowed by the game to use their powers or weapon in public place (say within 500m of any NPC (trainer, etc). I could care less if you play your Jedi but I never see you. I think a lot of other players who object to the omnipresent Jedi feel the same way.

You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube so to speak. THere are already way too many Jedi to be in keeping with the SWG storyline. The only thing SOE can do is make each player experience the storyline as if Jedi are rare because they never see other Jedi except doing their own missions and grouping AS a Jedi.

Hi Singara,

I'm Kessa fellow Infinity Player.

You are right. PPL don't roleplay as much as they used to. But this is most definitly still a role playing game. I play in character unless I'm disscussing Game Mechanics with another player. And I find that when I play in character, players I interact will play in character. On some ocassioins I get a rude comment or 2 but over all if you are willing to roleplay, people around you will be willing to endulge you. I like to think it's fun for both parties, because it easy to forget why you are here with all the grinding that does go on. You are here to be a Part of the Star Wars Universe. So while you are online. Live your Part I think you'll pleasently surprised.

I pretty much hated the play-style and the game in general for the first few hours. By the 2nd day, I couldn't put it down. It was like virtual crack.

Buy it back or steal it from a friend. Give it more than 30 minutes. Trust me (unless you're a Quake or Half-Life kind of guy, then forget it!) This game is hugely, amazingly interesting.
