You don't "use" the waypoint datapads, you give them to Sarguillo. Give Sarguillo both the waypoint datapad and a frequency code and he'll give you a shield tool and a waypoint to one of the bases. The waypoint he gives you may or may not be the base you have the shield tool for, so check the forums to find the waypoints for all the camps.

I have looted the waypoint datapad from the first encounter with the sith. The first one where they jump you after the old man gives you the crystal. This datadisk i assume is supposed to give you the location of the village and allow you to pass through the fog. HOW?! When i try to use the disk i get a message "you cannot make sense of the information contained on this disk".

Is this a bug? CSR's havnt beenable to help. I was told by one to try using it from my backpack but i got the same message. Ive been playing for 2 years, got real close to unlockign my FSCS the old way by grinding holos and they changed it before i found my secret profession. It took untill the CU for them to fix the part of the IMP theme park that was keeping me from becoming glowy and now that i am the frikkin disk doesnt work. Im almost at my whitts end.

Phase 3:
Ranged Defense says you unlocked Melee Accuracy.

Melee Accuracy, when your groupmate who took down the shield is not inside the base with you and you capture the commander, he gets a mission failed, but is still able to unlock melee accuracy, and gets the rewards too. Journal says he failed tho.

Quest is only doable from nearest base, we tried from a 6k away base and since dathomir has quite many mountains / ups and downs we made it 2.5km far and he died of poison, not to mention line of sight issues where he wanted to flee about 3 times in a matter of 30 seconds

Thought I would thow this bug in here since a few people are having the same problem:

I have the exact same problem - old man came, Ireceived the crystal. I was attacked by Sith a few hours later, killed them and got some ore and a waypoint datapad. Used thedatapad and it said to investigate thelocation- the waypoint was empty. The waypoint keeps coming back again and again now, always the exact same place, always empty. So I deleted the crystal, ore, and waypoint - but no re-visit from the old man to reinitiate the quest - and the waypoint never stops reinitiating after being destroyed, or discovering nothing there.

So it seems this bug is not unusual and is probably a recent occurence. There seems to be no way to fix it on my side (everything destroyed, yet whenever I log in or even 'zone' the old empty waypoint reappears). I've sent a CSR ticket, but I get the feeling the system is just broken.

I had this issue tonight.

I was researching it when the sith attacked again. What i did this time was instead of double clicking the sith to recover/loot them....i use the radial to goto loot instead of lootall. This brought up the dialog box and I manually looted the sith. I was then given all the stuff i needed to complete the next step. So its off to the village.
