I think there should be different paths to Jedi and not just one. Make one that is time gated but possible for the casual player (no girnding involved) and one for the grinder that does not have time gates. Right now this system is just for the rich (Grenaders like me) or the person with to much time on ther hands. It was great to put in the quest system but to put a quest system thats also got a grind to it is just plain stupid. I also really hate this population control myth. If the devs were interested in population control we would not have a system that everyone could do. ONLY players are interested in population control. Devs realize that Jedi draws players. This game would be dead if they took Jedi out of the equation. There are to many alternative games out there for people to play . I will admit I play only to one day be a Jedi. If it was not for that goal I would be out of here.

I do agree with a lot of points brought up by everyone. so i won't rehash anything else or try not too anyway.
I think the way to get to the village is fine. no problems here.
But I do have a problem with the conversion rates as I feel some of the ratios are a bit too high... If it was 3-1 or 6-1 across the boardI feel itwouldn't be too bad. Still a grind, but not as crazy as it is now.
A even better system would be if we were able todo FS-XP quests from the village it's self. All it would take really is placing a fewtermnals or NPCin the village so that we can do the type ofFSXP you want via quests.
I also find the lack of Dark and Light side used in the village a bit of a downer.
I always thought it would be neat if you had a choice of a Sith or Jedi Villiage...
anyway... thats about it for my ramblings.....

Stupidest idea.....ever
I mean sure lets do quests instead of contsant grinding but that is the only place I agree with you. If you wanted a training lightsaber to be used BEFORE finishing the village, than this would screw up the entire system completetly.Do you have any idea how weak this LS would be??? Paddy's hit for 90-120ish damage with the training saber, what would that make this saber hit for? A lightsaber drains the force pool, do you want the devs to give everyone who does a few crummy parks and POI's a force pool too?
What about specials? You want the devs to create a whole new slurr of moves that are even weaker than the moves a Padawan recieves?
Sure it would be nice but you know what? Implementing a whole new system would only slow down this entire game. The Combat Upgrade, planet revamps, quest revamps/additions, and all the other crazy ideas the devs are thinking about would be pushed back-even though they are more important. I would really love a different way to make jedi but this is the wrong time to do it. This game is undergoing many radical changes which improve gameplay for EVERYONE, not just jedi hopefuls.
Just look at it this way, we, being the first batch of village trainee's are the experiment group. The devs are feeding off of our feedback thinking of how they can improve their creation. Changes to the Jedi system are sure to come, but not for a long, long time.
Just my 2 cents

Wielding a lightsaber is one of the rewards of becoming a padawan. Sure you like it your idea because it gets you a saber in a simple and easy way. Sorry mate, wielding that saber is a reward, I'll never support something that further trvializes the work needed to get Jedi.

Okay i see your point, you are one of the lucky players that is a powergamer no? you have all the time in the world to play this game, grind out your XP using millions of credits saved up. fair does. but the whole existance of this game now hinges on Jedi. nothing else. as more players have DONE everything out there. every single post i read is negative towards the endless grind fest we live in. and thats players that mastered every thing. You must be so proud you can grind out boxes in 2 days. that must be quite an achievement in your house hold.
So heres a thing for all players to try. Limit your time online to 8 hours a month. NO more than 8 hours. and then you work out how long it will take you to get this XP. so far, im looking at 4 years 6 months.
