Thanks. I think I'll stick with Doc for a while, although I'm not there just yet. I am going for Master Swords and I've already got TKM. I planned on converting Medical xp when I eventually get to the village. It won't be until after I get another 15+ combat levels. As of this writing I'm a CL61 and climbing.

I started the FS grind pre-cuas a MTKA/MDOC. I retained this template after the CU as this suited my playing style. Even though Mdoc is not a combat template it is counted as one so I became a CL80 and although it was hard work I got through the village without too many difficulties.

When I became a Padawon I started to drop my TKA skills as opposed to MDoc. This was for 2 main reasons. The first was that I might be able to stay alive long enough as a MDoc to escape the BH (not had to test this theory yet) and secondly even though I have drop to between CL60 to 70 I keep getting asked to join high level hunting groups because I can Buff, Heal and rez.

Its is all personal preference. Good luck.

Everyone has a choice and we should let them have that choice. Jedi should not be limited because new players should get that choice... to answer your question, I'd get something like TKA for grinding and it's a good skill to have once you go Jedi (last thing you should drop). Then get anything else that will help you get tons of xp (Novice elites but make sure you master another prof), then you will be able to cap tons of stuff and then you will have the grind down, healing is probably good too if you are planning on soloing combat quests.

What do you guys think about MTK, Master Swordsman, and Master Fencer for grinding FS?

Again, it's all about personal preference and finding a template that matches your playstyle.

That being said, for grinding it's a good template because you can cap 3 different types of weapons XP at 1.2 million each, so you can convert 3.6 million XP on each village trip. However, if you're going purely for the most efficient grind template, I'd go for MTK/Master Swordsman/Fencer 4000/Pikeman 0040. This would give you 4 different types of XP to cap (unarmed, one hand, two hand, and polearm) at 1.2 million each, meaning you could convert 4.8 million weapons XP per village trip.

Thanks.

Basic overview... Every phase, you can unlock one branch from either Combat Prowess, Enhanced Reflexes, Heightened Senses, or Crafting Mastery by taking the appropriate quest (outlined in the guide). If you're doing the Dag quest, you're about to unlock the Ranged Defense branch from the Enhanced Reflexes tree. Once you unlock a branch, you can then start training the skills in that branch (i.e. the 4 tiers). In order to finish the village and qualify for your exit quest, you have to train a full 6 branches. They can be any 6 branches you want, but since you're combat-oriented, you'll probably want to focus on 6 branches from the Combat Prowess and Enhanced Reflexes trees. Refer to the guide for explanations of each branch and recommendations on which ones you should choose.

To answer your questions, I believe you can train in any of the novice boxes at any time, and they don't cost any SP - only 50k FS XP. But you can't train in a branch until you have unlocked it. Once you unlock a branch, you can train in it at any time, but my suggestion is to wait and just bank enough XP to train all at once at the end - this way, you don't need to drop any skills to accomodate the 24 SP you'll use up from the 6 FS branches. Also, unless you just want to spend 50k of FS XP, don't bother training in a novice box unless you're planning on training one of the branches in that tree, since it offers absolutely no benefit to you.
