(1) I for one would rather have the devs coding than petting me to make me feel good. You want the devs to come in the forum, and stroke you just so you can feel important. And CSRs cannot respond if they have no info from the devs.
Its a case of someone getting more candy than you (2), and you are pissed.
Lets see maybe they didnt respond right away after the initial "We know its a bug and were looking into it" Post, Due to the fact that they were looking into it and had no information to give you.
Then when they found the problem (1 week later) they posted in the boards that they found the problem, and it would be available in the next Patch.(2 days from now)
(3) So quit your frickin crying for gods sake. The developers dont care how much you cry, it is not going to get anything fixed faster.
(4) What gets me is that you have the Developers come out and tellyou what you want to hear, and you are still unhappy and B!tch more than ever about cr@p they said they are going to fix.
Geesh if this last announcement doesnt make you happy then I dont know... maybe you need some lovin.
- I would also prefer that. But the company doesn't just have developers. They have communication facilitators, both paid and volunteer. And as far as I am concerned, the communication facilitators aren't doing their job. And the more I looked into the details of the problem, the worse it looked. The way I see it, none of these people, the communicators, are doing their job for the FS Forum. Do you realize that the last post SonGouki submitted to the FS Forum was January 27? And that for the entire month of January, he summoned up a grand total of THREE posts? Contrast that with his performance in the Jedi board, where to date he has issued almost-daily posts on the overwhelmingly significant issue of identifying the highest-quality spawn of Culsion Inert Gas on every server, so Jedi could cash in their veteran perk for 30,000 units the highest quality spawn of this stuff? And that Tiggs and Thunderheart have never once placed a post in the FS Forum in it's entire history?
- More candy?? MORE CANDY?? This is a bug that brought many players' entire game to a screeching halt! And you call it "candy".... [Iakimo cuffs Cada_Kai upside his fool head]
- B!tching seems to work superbly for Jedi.
- Again, you distort the issue. This has gone far beyond the bug itself. These people have made even Gordon Walton look like a chump, withpromises of "better communication" now exposed as just more empty platitudes. The single issue of their lack of communication about this particular bug was bad enough. Unfortunately, I now see it as one issue in a systemic pattern. I've laid out my findings in previous posts and threads. Look them up. Read them. I think the evidence of a significant problem is conclusive.
Well said and Cada...you need to read this closer.
And your candy comments are completely messed up. If a bug that halts thousands from progressing deserves 2 responses in 12 days and a little annoyance bug of not being able to use an anti-decay kit deserves 12 in one day that should clearly show you something is wrong.
The devs have not stated they have a fix as you say in the last post you made in fact it appears they have determined it cant be fixed in time because they are letting CSR's unlock people. I bet partially because of the embarrasing way it has been handled as well as the complexity of the problem.

Where did you get that count from?? I really am curious about it. The only thing I saw was a posting here, with around 280+. And when I looked into it, I can take away 10%. Tell me, where do you know that thousands are affected? It this just a guess from you, because you want it this way?
But something else.. where is it written, that this bug will be fixed with the next publish and that this will be next tuesday? Does someone have a link to it?
Don't you get it? Only because you are paying a monthly fee, doesn't give you any rights. Are you also one of that kind, that just click at the accept buttn of the EULA but never read it?
All of you who are complaining here, have no, really no idea about software engineering.

For of you who are complaining about missing communication from the devs..
I just found this posting by Tiggs in the 'in Live' Forum. I hope that will give you some peace again.
Jedi
* Phase 4 Village Quest is not working properly - bugged and is currently being worked on.
You can read this in this topic
It is now clearly stated as a bug and the devs are currently working on solving it.
Are you happy now?
cheers

No we are not happy and as a paying customer you should not be either with the way this has been handled. It went way beyond the bug to how it was handled
Lets look at the responses and see why so many are upset
Dont speak for others.. If this doesn't make you happy, than nothing will do it anymore. Maybe you really should take some days off from this game and this board. The devs (Tiggs) did exactly what you were asking for all the time. She stated it clearly as a bug and that they are looking into it to get it fixed.
And I am happy. I don't have to suffer with this bug. So I don't have any reason to be upset or unhappy. And nobody can ask me to join that collectiv sadness.
cheers

You love to make assumptions about people.
If you could only see my resume lol

It's an extrapolation from the number of people who bothered to post. Statistically, only one in hundreds of people bother to complain (especially in writing) about negative experiences. At the extreme end of this, politicians find that every letter they receive from a constituent typically represents a couple thousand others with similar opinions, but who don't bother to complain. It would be interesting to see some hard numbers on how many SWG players even venture into the Forums at all, and of that number, how many read the forums associated with their professions. And of that subset-of-a-subset-of-a-subset, an even smaller subset can be assumed to correspond in them.
Out of the total universe of players in the game (and Gamespy ranks SWGin the top five online games, with over 200,000 active subscriptions), I'd say a substantial number are Force-sensitive. Pretty much everyone I hung out with in the first player association I joined had a goal of becoming Force sensitive. And from what I've seen in the village, the number of people actually doing the quests on Bria alone appear to be at least several hundred, and probably into the thousands. How many other servers are there? Multiply my observation by the number of galaxies, and you could easily have over 10,000 players who are currently Force sensitive. Tell me if you think that estimate is conservative or overly generous. That's only five percent of the total in-game population. It could easily be much higher.
Out of that estimate, we'd have a second guesstimate: the percentage of people actually affected by the bug. From what I've seen of the polls taken by players, that appears to be half of all the people doing Sargullo's quests.
People who play SWG are reputed to be extremely vocal, so I factor another guesstimate into my conclusion, skewing the percentage of complainants to silent players upward dramattically. But still, I'd say that percentage is nowhere near 100 percent of all Force-sensitive players -- perhaps one in four people directly affected by the bug.
So, to sum up, I'd say there are at least 10,000 people playing SWG who are force sensitive. And that is probably conservative. Of that number, probably half of them aredoing one of Sargullo's quests this phase. Again, since Sargullo is the source of two of the most popular unlocks and we're only at the end of the second pass through the village's quest cycle, that number is also probably conservative. It's probably at least 75%, with the remainder doingonethe Heightened Senses or Crafting quests. Either way, that's at least 5,000 to 7,000 people. And if half of them are affected by this bug, that would be between 2500 and 3500 people.
But again, my estimate of the percentage of players who are force sensitive is probably way too low. Given the relative ease and desirability of getting the glow, it wouldn't surprise me if at least a third of the total game population isglowy and currently doing quests in phase 4. That adds up to over 60,000 people, or six times the number. So, multiplying all the earlier guesstimates by six, we arrive at a bottom-line estimate of 15,000 to 21,000 people possibly being affected by this bug.
