* Phase 4 Village Quest is not working properly - bugged and is currently being worked on.

You can read this in this topic

It is now clearly stated as a bug and the devs are currently working on solving it.
Are you happy now?

cheers
Exi

No we are not happy and as a paying customer you should not be either with the way this has been handled. It went way beyond the bug to how it was handled

Lets look at the responses and see why so many are upset

Bug reported 2/3

Dev repsonse to say they are looking itor reports of the bug - 2/7

Acknowledgement of the bug 2/12

It took hundreds of posts, tickets and /bug reports to get the 2/7 response

It took even more posts to get the 2/12 acknowledgement

Now lets look at another bug

Anti decay kits went in 2/3

Jedi's found they could not use it in their light sabers on 2/3

12 dev responses on 2/3 on this

Hot fix on 2/4

Do you see why people are upset about dev response.

Now a poster has posted that the next update will have a fix. That is form a CSR. Well a CSR is not a DEV, If this is truly going to happen the next update when will that be? The next update does not imply a hotfix necessarily nor does it imply it will be in on time.

If it is truly going in on the next update then they have a tentative schedule they can update us on

Dont speak for others.. If this doesn't make you happy, than nothing will do it anymore. Maybe you really should take some days off from this game and this board. The devs (Tiggs) did exactly what you were asking for all the time. She stated it clearly as a bug and that they are looking into it to get it fixed.

And I am happy. I don't have to suffer with this bug. So I don't have any reason to be upset or unhappy. And nobody can ask me to join that collectiv sadness.

cheers
Exi

WRONG.

The problem most people have had is that nobody would offer any feedback about this bug, just 1 message about it being "looked into", and we have a right to be mad, the anti-decay thing got massive feedback from Devs, so what who cares about that?

We were complaining about our templates, and the fact that these templates took weeks and weeks, and when most of us were finally at the last step it broke, and nobody batted an eye for us.

Now they finally decided to say it's bugged, so lets see over a week (into a limited time phase) we get 2 Dev comments on the subject, they could have come out and said yes it's a bug, and we are working on it, on the second day.....but no, they let us simmer and stew over it untill this forum became a rant board.

Ex, the only thing you seem to be good for on these boards is to tell people to stop complaining, well I have some advise, stop complainign about us complaining. It's our right as paying customers.

Tiggs only acknowledged it after hundreds of posts and demands they wcknowldge it.
If that type of customer service is ok with you then so be it.
The tone in all the posts is that it is not with the majority of us.
Not acknowledging a bug for 11 days that gates people is not good community relations.
I am happy that they now do, but it was handled very poorly

Yes, you are right. They didn't handle it very well. Nothing is more frustrating to get no information about it.

But try to see it from a different point of view, even if it is hard. When you can't be sure, what the problem really is and you don't find a schemata behind it i.e the same behavior for every player like you had it, than you can't just get out informations just to cool down the crowd. Worse than no informations are false informations.

Lets asume Tiggs would have made a posting like this:'Player we got reports about a phase 4 bug. We don't know why it happens and we don't no when it happens. We need to collect more informations and can't get you any ETA. As soon as we found out that it is a bug, we will support you with more information'.

What would be the reactions of you all two days later? Devs' give us an ETA and a confirmation about a bug. Devs' give us some more information. Devs' we all want a free unlock for the bugged phase 4. Devs' why does it take so long to fix this?.. Devs', Devs', Devs'.. Nothing would be different. You woulnd't be satisified.

I believe that they will fix it before phase 4 ends. They have to. They can't wait another 12 weeks just to find out, that it didn't work. I'm also sure, that all of you will get your compensation.

But really.. cool down now. It doesn't help you not a bit, when you stay so upset. Calm down.

cheers
Exi

All of you who are complaining here, have no, really no idea about software engineering.

LMAO

You love to make assumptions about people.

If you could only see my resume lol

You prove it all the time. Otherwise you wouldn't act all the time as you do. So it is an easy assumption. Especially with over 16 years knowledge of software engineering

Well I have over 20 and you just do not get it. Its not about sotware engineering, how difficult it is to fix.

It's about customer service and communication

So you should watch your assumptions.

lol.. since when does customer relations fix bugs?

hehehe... I don't have to watch my assumption... As I wrote in two postings before.. They never can do it right for you people. Thats something you don't get here.

Now we should stop flaming each others, because that also doesn't solve the problem here.

Oh.. I forgot.. I'm in the IT since over 35 years.. erm wait.. I'm not that old

If you had read the postings and the tone of these threads the last few days, and the tone and input of this thread. It's not all about fixing the bug but how it was handled.

Good customer relations would have stopped or drastically slowed down what has been going on in this and other forums.

And no they did not do this right and they won't until we start seeing constant communication. Two posts in 12 days doesnt cut it from a customer service perspective when all this uproar is about

I was right before, You are a Moron.

My right to copmplain is not in the SOE EULA, it's in the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, that document guarentees me the right to complain about any damn thing I want, and as a loyal paying subscriber I can complain till my hearts content.

I read the EULA, and im not talking about a fix, im talking about the lack of acknowledgment about the problem, why dont you learn to READ and stop trying to assume you know what everyone is trying to say.

That said, I could care less about software engineering, that is not my problem....it's the Devs.

P.S. Did you or did you not start a thread about no 1 or 5 starring a post based on the side of a debate your on, seems to me you are 1 star bandit who cant accept that his opinion is in the minority.

I for one would rather have the devs coding than petting me to make me feel good. You want the devs to come int he forum, and stroke you just so you can feel important.

And CSRs canot respond if they have no info from the devs.

Its a case of someone getting more candy than you,a nd you are pissed.

Lets see maybe they didnt respond right away after the initial "We know its a bug and were looking into it" Post, Due to the fact that they were looking into it and had no information to give you.

Then when they found the problem (1 week later) they posted int he boards that they found the problem, and it would be available in the next Patch.(2 days from now)

so quit your frickin crying for gods sake. The developers dont care how much you cry, it is not going to get anything fixed faster.

What gets me is that you have the Developers come out and tellyou what you want to hear, and you are still unhappy and B!tch more than ever about cr@p they said they are going to fix.

Geesh if this last announcement doesnt make you happy then I dont know... maybe you need some lovin.

lmao, so you think the same people that send the messages (like Tiggs) also do the coding? So you thinking that communicating stops progress on fixing the bug? Well in that you are wrong.

And no, i they had communicated I can tell you that the uproar in this forum would have been much less.

They took 5 days to say they were looking into it so give me a break. On a time sensative bug that is too long to even say you are looking into it.

  1. I would also prefer that. But the company doesn't just have developers. They have communication facilitators, both paid and volunteer. And as far as I am concerned, the communication facilitators aren't doing their job. And the more I looked into the details of the problem, the worse it looked. The way I see it, none of these people, the communicators, are doing their job for the FS Forum. Do you realize that the last post SonGouki submitted to the FS Forum was January 27? And that for the entire month of January, he summoned up a grand total of THREE posts? Contrast that with his performance in the Jedi board, where to date he has issued almost-daily posts on the overwhelmingly significant issue of identifying the highest-quality spawn of Culsion Inert Gas on every server, so Jedi could cash in their veteran perk for 30,000 units the highest quality spawn of this stuff? And that Tiggs and Thunderheart have never once placed a post in the FS Forum in it's entire history?

  2. More candy?? MORE CANDY?? This is a bug that brought many players' entire game to a screeching halt! And you call it "candy".... [Iakimo cuffs Cada_Kai upside his fool head]

  3. B!tching seems to work superbly for Jedi.

  4. Again, you distort the issue. This has gone far beyond the bug itself. These people have made even Gordon Walton look like a chump, withpromises of "better communication" now exposed as just more empty platitudes. The single issue of their lack of communication about this particular bug was bad enough. Unfortunately, I now see it as one issue in a systemic pattern. I've laid out my findings in previous posts and threads. Look them up. Read them. I think the evidence of a significant problem is conclusive.
