Ok well I put in the first word on this topic I will try to bring this back there.

Why does everyone think that these "jedi" should be rare? Because of the time line that the game is in? I think that the whole timeline thing fell out the window after the first month of this game. We used to have the monthly events that were somewhat along with when they wanted this game to fall in the star wars universe but I haven't seen anything dealing with that since the third one.

I personally don't count those in this game as Jedi. They are just NS's with lightsabers. Even with the lightside and darkside covens they still don't seem like the Jedi from the books and thats where the real story is at. I don't really think that the grind that they have now is any better than the grind they had before. AmI the only one that like the profession grind? I liked trying out all the profession that the game had to offer (Might be the TC player in me) I did 27 profession didn't unlock oh well.

I just think with all the cool things that could be going on in Star Wars the the best things they can come up with is go to this waypoint and kill this Creature/NPC, or craft this item x amount of times. But thats the game that we have and i'll deal with it.

I understand where everyone is coming from in all these post the system needs work and a lot of it. I'm bored with converting xp like others but I want my lightsaber because I think I've earned it. I've been playing since day one and I am a casual gamer. I can ususally durning the week play a few days and thats usually just enough time for me to get full use out of a buff. If i'm not working or not going on with the little lady I can get more time in on the weekends. So no I won't get my lightsaber after a month of power gaming but I will get it with the system they put into place.

Apparently everyone took that the wrong way, i was trying to state my opinion and get constructive answers from other people.Maybe I should have clarified more things... I AM NOT A POWER GAMER. I have played the game since Oct 2003 and STILL DON'T HAVE MY JEDI. What I am sick of... is all the non power grinders saying the grind is too hard and long. Yes it should be hard and long. You unlock when you unlock, I am close to being unlocked OVER A YEAR AFTER I STARTED, and I am not compliaining. Personally I think that grenades should do Heavy weapons xp and not combat xp to slow down the grind as well. So don't think that I'm in it for the 'throwing nades and trying to be ub3r l337'

Don't reply if you are going to flame me farther. I am merely trying to explain some things that so many of you all assumed when you flamed my last post.

Well Tathizar i must say you said this post better than the last one. I Started back in march with a new character to try and unlock a jedi and now i am ever so close to unlocking my jedi now. Only got one 1 tree left but i need to wait till phase 3 in order to unlock my jedi. However to get the xp for that i need to grind it out just now while i'm at college as i don't have time when i go back to work. Nm only another 20 xp caps with swordsman and i've got the xp i need. Then i'll be

Anyways back to the FS grind discussion. IMO the grind has been designed to be very long and boring for a reason. Its so that people will get bored with it and if they aren't determined enough they'll just forget about and go back to something else. The problem with grenades doing combat xp was that when they decided they would make it that they didn't know they would have this current system inplace. I do feel that the grenades should do heavy weapons xp but i don't see that happening as theyre would be a major outcry. I also think this is in part a direct result of the solo group nerf. As it cost a fortune to maintain the grind using that consequently with the amount of grenades and armour you go through the nerfed the groups so that only those who had millions in the first place will be able to keep up that grind and other will have to drop that and pick up something else TKA for example.

But in contrast to what most people say i actually do enjoy slaughtering endless amounts of creatures. As i am a more combat orientated person.

I'm kind of talking crap now so i'll shut except to sayi can't really structure a debate or that can i?

Oh and how about those Super sons

see, I feel the same way about this... it was a blast trying out all the professions. I never thought I would like crafting either, but one of my holocrons was weaponsmith so I gave it a shot and actually liked it. You might say it forced more content on you because you were forced to try out different professions and aspects of the game. On the topic of quests.. killing NPC then going back, i agree those are dumb. However I really enjoyed the phase 3 combat quest.. that was more than just killing NPC, you had to loot the remote, go to base, do some work then bring a guy back that had alot more content (and difficulty) then anything else i have seen in game as far as quests goes.. so I applaud them for that.

Bingo, i think the devs did this grind as a way to gate more people since they figured they only wanted the major determined to be jedi.. and doing a quest every 3 weeks really isn't enough, anyone could do that its the grind that is a pain and turns most people off. I never thought about the solo nerf that way but you couldn't be more right as well.. grenades aren't cheap at all some people I know are spending 7 or 8 ++ million on this grind, and now that the missions are nerfed, that means they won't be getting any income at all while they grind this can totally kill someones bank account.

Although most people say the holo grind was a very bad idea in the first place i would have to disagree. In concept it was a good idea as it was rewarding players who tried out different aspects of the game with jedi. They spoiled it with releasing the holo's and rather than changing it from one grind to another i think they should have added in something else to it other than just grinding out proffesions. Such as along the lines of actual quests and having to do missions for some obscure person that was really hard to find. Also that the missions and quests were indeed different for everyone else and not just different proffs you had to master.

Anyways i have to agree with you in saying that i found the hologrind fun. It was cool to try out different proffs that i probably would never have done if that system wasn't in place. And enjoyed some i thought i would never have done except for merchant that one i didn't enjoy. The one i found suprising that i enjoyed was BE at first when i seen that wasmy first holo i thought oh no. Well i actually thought something else but i won't post it. But i actually enjoyed it.

Anyways i think you may see my point

I think im not very alone in feeling like this, but the moment im am to bored to go on with the grind there is no going back for my account, when I am bored with the FS/jedi grind that will in many ways be the same for me as I am bored with the game in general.

Making part of the game boring with intent is probably one of the worst sales arguements ever, if someone at Sony online entertainment is deliberately spending their time at work to make sure their customers do not have a good time using their product, i can not understand why they keep that person around.

I dont say it should be easy or even fast, I just say the time spent trying to reach your goal should be interesting so that you feel that the time spent playing the game is well worth the effort. The majority of players in SWg use the game as recreation from a busy and stressing day, most might spend an hour or two during the evening escaping the busy real life worries, and to have some fun.

Belive it or not but this is the people that provide Sony online entertainment with the majority of income from the game, not the hard core gamers that have turned the game in to something more important then school or jobs.

As of now the FS griniding is not a challenge or even hard, itare only time consuming this is what upset most of the casual gamers on top of it all it is boring, so they do not get the recreation effect they seek when logging in to the game. Instead they are given frustration, so belive me whne im saying, there is no going back when your tired and bored with the game then its over, the account cancel button is within reach and the money are going to some sort of new entertainment something that brings them recreation effects rather then frustration.

Personally im very much a hard core gamer myself, least in what time spent in the game concerns, but im not important for the game the casual gamers are as they provide the masses this game desperately need.

one point is essential when discussing thing like this. That is to remember most of the people on borads like this are people that spend much time in the game, Most casual players do not participate on discussions they leave as silent as they arrived when they are bored of the game. And that are the important people in the game, those are the people we would like to see stay on participating in our world cause without them there is no elite, there is no hard core, there is only silly people that cant seam to understand that there is a better way to spend their money and time like they did.

Frustrated people that stay on are the people that care, cause if they moved they would not be in the elite anymore they would be new somewhere else. and they dont want that.
