IMO they should drop the "grinding" out of the fs grind... make your jedi toon a 1 or 2 year vet reward.

some will stay, enjoy all the game has for an offer, then get their jedi...

those that want instant jedi will go play kotor.

Give it time, give it time....

Then I want my reward..

All I can say is that I have been playing the game for two years now. I have been attempting to get Jedi for about a year and a half(yes i get sidetracked that easilly and grind that slowly). Now that my grind is finaly over I can't help but feel like I want to take one more month or two before training in my banked xp. I have done countless quests, fought countless large battles, seen every stage this game has had to offer from when everyone was a newbe to player crazes, publishes and the first jedi and mastered every profession I have had a intrest in playing. Now Jedi stands before me and I hesitate.

Jedi is indeed the last fronteer of the game. Yes it is easy to grind now, yes it makes you much stronger and yes it closes off many many open doors. I will miss being an avarage solider fighting stormtroopers along side my comrads, I will miss ordering custrom rifles and carbines and dressing the way I want, sitting in a cantina drinking a drink with out a care in the world and worrying about how many kills I scored in my X-wing for the day (lol pilot ego).

Point is you really should experiance the game before you undertake this stage of the game. I have no regreats that it took me this long, and might deside to take even longer. Sure you have cool powers and a glowy stick, but again you lose so much more.

I literally got all my FS xp for jedi in 2 days of double XP, the "FS grind" is a joke, having to wait 3 weeks for each unlock... now that slows some people down, either way people have to keep paying for thier account for 18 weeks before they get all thier unlocks, and that's all SOE really cares about, steady income hehe the only way to prevent so many jedis is to limit the number there can be, but then again you go telling people they cant be a jedi and alot of people just wont pay to play anymore.

Man after double XP is over you won't see as many jedi grinders, there were never that many to begin with. For as many jedi there are there are countless amounts of new players who will never check the forums and therefore will never figure out how to get force sensitivity.

Right, and so there should be a time limit. New accounts should have to wait 6 months or so before having the opportunity to get the old man visit. then go through another 19 weeks of the village quests.

This would effectively kill the Ebay-trade. hehe.

I've been playing galaxies since the day it launched (when no one could get the registration to work LOL).

Oh yeah, I remember that. I also remember the developers, after getting slammed by the press for releasing a buggy game, blaming us beta-testers for not reporting the bugs.

Yep, those were the days alright. hehehe.

Not much has changed.

I just started this week as well. I haven't gotten very far ( Nearly Mastered Marsman and almost have the Scouting SKills needed for BH), but I am having a great time. I bought the game with the intention of becoming a Jedi. Now, however; I think I'll wait a year or two before I embark on the jedi path. I'd rather try my hand at bounties. My free period runs out at the end of this month, but I bought an additional three months for now. I may go back and upgrade to a full year. This is my first MMORPG and I can't wait to see what happens to my character.

Going for jedi from the beginning is a bad idea.

The first jedi didn't even show up for like5 month so I feel bad for every new player. ESPECIALLY since you don't have to walk around everywhere.
