I just posted this too 
Iearned 5 unlocks in Pub 10. The way I received those was, prior to Pub 9 I completed 4 holocrons (4 unlocks) and 20+ profession (1 unlocks)...so if you didn't do that....NO unlocks for Pub 10 and beyond (unless you fit the prior criteria).
Now this is how I got my trees, I talked to Paemos and he said I had 5 free unlocks. Now I selected unlock a tree and I recieved all the FS needed to complete that tree. I then headed over to the trainer unlocked that tree and applied the FS xp to that tree...I did that 5 times. Now I had to grind out that last tree to complete my village quests. You need 6 trees trained to level 4 to procede to the exit quest (Mellichae) anything else you grind out is extra.
Choose your trees wisely becuase once you pick those 6 trees you are bound by them. Now once you're Jedi you are required to have 6 trees(trained to 4) at all times, what is niceyou go back and grind a 7th tree then drop the one you don't want (if that need arrises).
Bottom line: if you didn't do the Holocron work or 20+ profession thing before Pub 9, you ain't getting nothing.
Note:Ifyou opened up a holocron or not....completing one a profession for a holocron (prior to pub 9) that counts. On the old system, you did NOT need to open any holocrons to get Jedi....they were there to make it easier, they would tell you 4 of the 5 professions needed to unlock Jedi.

Was a good post, but even under that reasoning if I was one of the unluckiest ones, I should have still recieved two free unlocks as I completed 4 holo's then went silent. If I only recieved two I would have been upset because I got 4 on test center, but I could have lived with it, the problem that I have is that I didn't get any. If you follow what everyone from SOE has said that shouldn't have happend and so there is some sort of problem that could be addressed/fixed. Did this happen to anyone else? Did SOE resolve the issue if it did or are they ignoring it still?

This has probably been covered several times, but I just got back to playing after a several month break and wanted to see if anyone had an answer without me going through pages of posts.
Background:
When village was on Test Center and Chilastra got to copy our characters on test center to test village, I got 4 free unlocks at that point in TC.I ground 2 proffs preholo, then ground to silent, for atotal of 17 proffesions. Village wentlive and I got Zero free unlocks.I am sure that its possible that TC gave me too many free unlocks, but has anyone that ground to silent holonot get any? I heard at that point thevillage elder may have been bugged so that if you talked/not talked to him before you went to convert xp it would cause you to lose any free unlocks. Don't know if this is the case or if it was just a rumor, and was wondering if anyone has any new information or has heard of a similar case.
Sorry for my ignorance, but I have just come back to playing after taking a few months to calm down, andright after the village came out no one from SOE was answering any questions about the village other than saying"everything is working as intended."

I got 2 Free unlocks. I did all the Melee Profs for fun and 3 days before Publish 10 i did my first holo which was Architect and that was it. I got 2 free unlocks days later when Pub 10 went live.

thats right except it was every 3 holo professions for one free unlock

Just wondering how you can earn the free unlocks, Id really rather not have to wait through all 4 phases twice. So if anyone knows or has a link or any information please let me know. FYI I tried searching and nothing.

free unlocks were part of the old systems hologrinding.
for every mystery prof you mastered you got rewarded with a free unlock in the new system.

I've read the guides and whatnot, but I still don't understand how these work. How do you know if you have them? How do you become eligible for them?

Only way to get Free unlocks Was to Be a hologrinder Way back In the days Pre-Pub-9
there is no way other than that.. Unless they make it a 2year Vet reward
