Wow even on a game board you can't escape the angry right wingers. Its pointless to argue with them since they have no life outside of being angry and rightwing.

I do think that Medical XP conversion needed to be raised but NOT to 30:1. Like someone mentioned earlier although we are now considered a combat profession (to some extent) we do NOT get any combat xp if we just heal.
Also Combat XP should not have been raised to 30:1 if they were going to raise it to 30:1 then they should have mutliplied the speed that we can gain combat xp by 10X as well.

I am a doctor/swordsman (who isn't), and I think that both the combat XP nerfs and the medical XP nerfs were unfair. I believe combat XP is 10% of your weapons XP, so the ratio should be 10:1. Medical XP does not have a secondary XP such as combat XP, so I think that the ratio should be 7:1 or somewhere around that area. Some people have recommended 5:1, which even as a doc myself I feel is too low.

First of all, I don't agree with this change. Med XP is not easy to get. You must do it in combat which leaves yourself open to get attacked. You get aggro'ed when you heal so then you must fire on the mob. This takes away your med XP and turns it into combat and weapon XP. This is why med XP rates should have remained the same.
I do hate some peoples argument that they are doing this to control the jedi population. That couldn't be further from the truth. Changing XP rates is not going to deter many people from doing jedi. What it will do is make the grind longer. Longer grind = more subscription time = more profits for SOE. It's not hard to figure out.

I do a bit of both. 4000 is combat xp, 2000 ish medic xpYou get exactly the same xp payout whether you're shooting, healing or any combination of the two. Combat xp to FS xp has always been 30:1. All that's changed is that the medic xp conversion rate has been brought in line with the combat professions. The grinder who's grinding doc will still grind away irrespective. They'll just join a group as a healer. The casual players are going to be no worse off than anyone else because they won't get any more or less than they would have anyway.
Well actually you pull out your carbine, and shoot: Net gain 6000 Carbine Experience, 600 Combat Experience.
You put away your carbine and heal. Net gain: 6000 Healing experience, no combat experience (I think) BUT ONLY IF SOMEONE HAS TAKEN DAMAGE. I have frequently been in groups where I got nada for many fights because people were either not taking damage, or someone else (or they themselves) were healing them before I could do so, the result is no experience. Healing someone who has taken no damage does not give you the experience anyways, they have to be injured by at least 1 pt. If you don't heal someone in the last few seconds before the lair blows, no exp bonus much of the time. It is NOT a direct correspondance. It is still much easier to gain experience using a weapon than it is using Healing, and this just makes the healing classes that much more marginalized. It is now much harder to gain FS experience via translating Medical experience than it is for Weapons experience. This is only increased when you are in a group that can pull multiple targets at once and there is little damage being dealt to players. As a weapon wielder you can quickly switch targets attacking each one in turn and get the experience for say 3 mobs at once. A healer does not have the luxury of doing this unless multiple group members are injured.
Its just another attempt to slow down people becoming Jedi so that they must renew their subscriptions more. It is not a solution to the problem of the Jedi profession being (one of, if not the) largest population professions in the game. In a world where Jedi are theoretically rare. The Devs have not only dropped the ball, they have punctured it, then shredded it into tiny fragments...

scout has a better conversion rate and its too easy to get scout xp. think its a 9 to 1. you have to work for med xp, so 30 to 1 is almost unbelievable. ihad to pick uphunting4 just so i could finish out luck or it would have taken1/2 ayear.
