Well Luke went through Basic Training on Dagobah and all he really accomplished was a plethora of failures before he ran out on his training to help his buddies.
Between Episodes V and VI he learned a few things, but never made it out of Padawan stage...

"ohhh! Not yet...first you must face Vader..." (Of course he left and faced him once so never was sure what facing him again was supposed to be, unless it was to resist the dark side).
As for all the other jedi in the prequels, well theypretty much started the jedi grind as toddlersand their journey to padawan took...oh I dunno...YEARS!
So did they kill 28,000 bols? No, but as kids, most younglings probably deflected minutes blasts from targeting droids more than 28,000 times... 
Wax on, wax off junior, it's the way of the jedi in SWG, (unfortunately).
However, the jedi grind does succeed in deterring many of the impatient ones, so it is serving the purpose intended...
