my god people quit whining and just tell him. all you've got to do is wait inside the base, bring the radial for the remote up, and as soon as you get kicked out of the base hit the button. if your fast enough youll get to the front of the line.

Is there no end people will not go to in order to screw over their fellow players?

I had someone first say in spatial that they have been camping the base for four hours and they were running a business helping people through the phase 3 quest. Therefore, it was "their" spawn. Sufficed to say, they were camping the closest one to the village.

So, our group dropped the shield and went on our way. Completed the mission in 10 minutes.

Honestly, no one owns spawns folks. Devs have stated it and made a point of designating (in this quest) a means for someone to take ownership of the mission for a short period in order to fulfill the quest. I'm the last person to pounce on someone for trying to run a business, but your 'rights' end when they affect gameplay of others, IMO.

People spend more time at the bases yelling at each other than it takes to run the mission. Sheesh.

Whether it's an Ancient Krayt or the Phase 3 Combat Quest, there are clear definitions of play. I cannot believe that every base on Dathomir was empty when these 6 groups lined up. They all just wanted the closest and wasted more time waiting (and / or arguing) than just running the mission.

As for screwing over fellow players, as long as the devs refuse to make some sort of contracts system, that will alway continue.

I have no idea how a contracts system will stop people from stealing missions from other players but the root of your story seems to be players who were attempting to grief others by denying them content which is a bannable offense and should have been reported to the CSRs.

My point is that the Phase 3 Combat Quest and killing Krayt Dragons has a definition of control that dictates who 'owns' something in the end. With the quest, whoever drops the shields owns the mission. With the Krayt which group does the most damage owns the loot. They are pretty straight forward. Sitting around the closest mission for hours is ridiculous. There are plenty of others available. I really consider the whole issue moot because there are plenty of bases supplied for the quest and simply becauseanyone wants to attribute a line system of 'rights' doesn't apply because there is a direct methodology already in place to establish a line of ownership.

My point about the contracts is that this is the only thing that does not exist within game that really allows players to screw others over. People can say things all they want in the game. They 'rent' things, they 'perform services', but without a contract fraud has been and will always be rampant in a game with no consequences for your actions.

It just plain suck when somone jumps ahead of you because they don't want to wait like everyone else. This was the main reason why I didn't bother to do this mission for a while. Iwas fortunate enough to have found somone (after the server reset) to group withwho was veryexperienced at doing this mission . The two of us was able to complete the mission.

Can't blame just the players for this. SOE is to blame too. If they wanted to, they could have made this an instanced mission.
