M8, you might be right; however, if you need to kill more stoff, wait longer, and so on don't you see the point why SOE is doing that ! ! ! ! ONLY BECAUSE that way there get more money out of you. What I am trying to say is ...if you need to wait until the next attack how could you grind your char in 2 weeks or 2 month ...see where am I getting ...you have to spend more time on something that to this point was "kinda Fun thing" now its ggggggggggrrrrrrr damnit again dead rebuff or what so ever....

Also thing in the TIMEZONE difference of your GUILDs all of you out there. HOw will you get your Cristals, Perls, and other stoff you will need to be competitive out there ? Well By Grouping BUT how can you group if 80% of your friends lives in a Timezpnme +4 or even from Europe +7 well I geuss I made my Point and well what ever you guys think just my point of view ....I know fro sure that alot of People will not comeback after CU .

The trick is or will be that the EXPANSION of the WOOKIEDOOKIES will be out 1 week before CU ....FUNNY right are they trying to fool us ???? nobody will buy the expansion until they know what is CU look like ....LOL HAVE fun DEVs nobody is trusting in you guys anymore, since you messed up sdo much in the past.... so many NErfs and Bugs ( which by the way were never removed)

To all the SWG Players out there, I don't want to flame or anything like that. Just help this game to survive cuz I love this Game adn the People that is playing it ( well some of the people not reallty :tongue I hope I see you out there adn we have some fun together

I have been playing TC is it just me or does it look kiddy, the color graphics in the toolbar, the big multi-color print, and the sonic like waves when you hit someone, looks like it belongs in city of heroes more than swg, and btw how come when I type in CU my keys activate my holocron, character sheet, datapad and stuff like that, the only way to get around it is to click spatial text box first and that is really annoying. also how come my left and right arrow keys turn my camera and no longer strafe, how can I fix that.

plz I have been a long time player almost since launch and have never complained or thought of leaving before, but hearing about the CU then playing it (I know its just a test and has alot of bugs) I have seriously thought of leaving swg.

thankyou for listening to my rant and sorry for it, it just has had me worried and sometimes pissed off looking at what they are doing to swg.

Ctrl-O, choose Controls, choose Keymapping, go back to Star Wars Galaxies keymapping. They're making the WASD control scheme the default, those weirdos.

Like he said, go to controls directory and click the KEYMAP icon. Then select from the drop down menu "Star Wars Galaxies" instead of MMORPG. Sorry for repeating but his seemed a bit vague

I'm sort of glad I am tailor at this point in time. Whatever happens in the CU, I'm pretty sure I'll still be happier than many other professions out there. Overall we got it pretty good. Though I am seriously considering dropping some merchant skills at this point.

ive got pleanty of alts being effected, (Armoursmith, Doctor/Swordsman, Musician/Dancer) yet im still looking forward to it.

I can see the larger picture, and i know combat is going to be 10000 x better overall, which will open the game up in some new directions i feel with grouping, and unlike most of the doomsayers who focus largely on themselves and how it will effect them initially, i feel the change wil bring back a lot of players who quit (lot of my friends are returning to try it at least and they quit back in december 03)

It fixes the most gamebreaking issues of SWG, the issues that overall has had people trickling away from the game for months bit by bit. Once these are fixed we can work on rebuilding/replacing the concessions that had to be made to allow these fixes (and its already started with inspiration buffs for entertainers)

Have you tried the cu on tc? Cause I did, and I was not impressed. Yes, people will come back to look at it, but I doubt many of them will stay more than a week.

The new color icons are visually confusing, I was never sure what I was attacking, and it was impossible to kill the "n00b" spawn outside of the towns without being in a group.

IF they fix all the issues that are being brought up, there might be a chance it is good, but somehow I'm not getting that feeling....

I personally am not looking forward to this at all. Add to this the fact that they are taking out some of the be'd mods (or so I've heard) and there goes half of our business.

I have mixed feelings about the CU, and I encourage you all to try it and see for yourselves. There are some aspects that you might like, and others that you might find horrid.

There are a lot of testers out there "pwning" and not doing a dang thing to make the game better, even though they logon for hours. Even if you only have half an hour to check it out, I'd encourage you to do so - not because tailors know the most about combat, but because this forum, beyond many others, consistently gives articulate feedback. For every one poster like you, there are ten who logon to TC, decide they hate it, and write nothing except a lone "lolz, I hate this."

You have the opportunity to make the game better. Every bit of detailed feedback helps!

As far as the CU goes.. I was testing it tonight..

While I'm not a member of Team Hawtpants I decided to start the grind to Tailor. I started to get to Master Artisan and got bored after I had 4-4-3-1. So I went to the cantina in Bestine and did a little dancing. I got my own inspiration buffs and then decided to take a break and hang out and chat with 1 member of <HAWT> and then started crafting to get to Business 4 as I was chatting. I noticed something extremely interesting and it applies to tailors.

The inspriation buffs you get from entertainers increase your success of crafting. Now after I got this message, I thought, hmm, interesting.. So I was grinding out Weighted Wookiee Hoods. No word of a lie that the chances of getting 4 sockets on these had to be at least 85-90%. During my time with the inspiration buffs I only had 1 hood come out with 0 sockets, 0 with 1 socket, about 10 with 2 sockets, 15 with 3 sockets and more than I was willing to count with 4 sockets.

So tailors, I beg you to get on the Test Center Ep3 and test this out, see if I was just lucky or is this going to be a turn around for us??

Happy Testing!!!

Been thinking about this and I'm curious to get some feedback. Since this post is conveniently titled, I guess it's as good a place as any to see what y'all think. There is, in my opinion a major change that will take placethat will affectcrafters when the CU goes through that I'm not sure everyone is aware of.

The new combat system is instituting an effective combat rating based solely on a single never changing level that rises as you obtain more combat oriented skill boxes. Top levels for combat characters (which means have 2 elite combat masteries) is probably in the 80-100 region. A pure crafting character is level 1.

Along with the addition of levels is the introduction of damage modifiers based on you level. If anyone's interested in the nitty gritty of what this means there are some good threads on the test center forum, but to make it brief, the upshot of these modifiers is that a creature's damage against you rises exponentially for each level they are above yours. As is currently stands on TC-EP3 a creature about 3-4 levels above you can pretty much one shot you.

Well my wook is a triple master crafter so after CU he's gonna be running around at level one. That means if almost *any* aggro mob in the game gets in one hit on me I'm down. And there's a good chance (especially with the shortened incap timers) that he'll still be standing there when I get up and incap me again. And then... again and a nice trip to the cloning center for old Chaka.

If you thought surveying and planting/checking harvesters on advanced planets was fun before, now it could conceivably feel that way on every planet heh. Buffs won't help because they'll be small enough that the damage modifier will obliterate them and of course we won't have armor anymore (PSGs yes, but those won't do a think against kinetic).

I don't want to start a debate on the merits of the CU (not that I think you guys would want to take part in one anyway heh) but this forum is where I feel most at home and I do think that in particularit's frequented by alarge percentage of players who choose to be completely non combatant (whether we are merchants, ID or entertainers along with tailor). Yes we may be happier than most professions, but the game is fundamentally changing and we *will* be affected.

Sorry if I'm being heavy, heh. I've been thinking about this way too much today (I'm afraid that I might need to get a life). On the bright side, kreetles are no longer aggro... 'bout time.

I agree. I will become a one hit wonder. No more trips to the village on dath (so NOT grinding FSXP didn't pay off for me). I will be in danger when I go and check my factories and harvesters. I'll have to group with higher level combat folksjust to do simple things. If they just offered some type of protection for non-combatants, I'd be good with that.
