Thread: Am I doomed?

It really stinks that you're in such a deep hole so early, but I don't think you're doomed. The path to jedi knight is not a race, nor is it limited to a select few. It will still be there for you when you get there, no matter how long it takes.

As for any advice to help you through the grind, cranking up the music is a great way to get through it. Also, if your guild or friends have ventrilo or teamspeak, that's a great way to grind....especially when you get so deep into conversation that you find you've finished an entire buffset without realizing it. Also, I tend to pace myself. As I play a few other characters on SWG and also in WoW, I set a goal of 3 buff sessions a week with my jedi. It's not a whole lot, but as they say, slow and steady wins the race. Figure what would be a good goal for you to grind without going insane, and just have at it.

i don't think deleting is an option anymore. i am not sure if pre-publish 9 toons can delete and start over (which i am not one of)

i have worked too hard and too long with this toon just to start over, plus i have all this junk that i would have to transfer to the alt and what not.

You can still reroll your Jedi? I thought if you delete it, hes gone for good.

If you only had gotten 4000 first it would take like two days with 2 buff sessions to get out of your hole .

Some "visability issues"??? I'm totally shocked by the depth of your situation. I guess your dedicationto being a successful Jedi now lies within your patience and committable time. The Jedi "grind" is tough and you have made it about a million times worse.

On that note: Good luck to you. Doomed or not can only be answered by yourself. I guess I pose the question back to you. Are you, and is your Jedi, now doomedbecause ofthese initial failures? Or are you going to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and do what it takes to level?

yeah i tend to have a little bad luck too. its funny how a Blurrg Raptor can be sitting at ur Crazed Gurreck lair, and only attack u. u would think a mob of that lv would agro its mom if it got close enough.

but hey, ur not doomed unless u completely give up. and im sure u did not grind countless hours of proffesions or grenades just to give up.

How do you figure you get more damage by going the tech tree first? From the extra experimentation points you can throw into the damage line? Thats what, 20 more with top of the line resources at tech 4. Maybe you do a few more points of damage with the default attack, but then it takes forever to kill anything that gives good xp. The specials in the LS trees are where you make your money at, not the damage range on your saber. I can do more damage per attack with a first gen saber with no points put into damageand a crappy crystal than I can with a 7 pointdamage experimented first gen with a perfect crystal and saber head hit 1.

Its the multipliers from the specials that make it easier to kill, not the stats on the glowstick.

Thetoughness and block from tech is nice, but the longer you fight something, the more likely it isgoing to kill you.

umm I dont know if you actually noticed but as you move up the tech tree your damage on your saber does go up.... and I am not talking about crafting one because you get more points... And i made that statement with the idea of telling him he is not screwed...it wont take him long to get back 1.7 mill stop fricken being so d*mn negative... shut up and give the guy some advice and support...

How to get out of -1.7mil XP at 1000 LS?:

1. find someone on ebay to PAY them $100 to take the account of your hands

2. buy new copy of the game - start fresh. Your new Jedi Initate will not have much lower skills than your current Jedi but will have a sweet positive zero XP balance!

I guess you could just delete your current Jedi too - but that would't as fair.

Yah I would just delete your Jedi, start a new one, and work to 4000 first (or whichever branch of saber you want first). Might be faster in the long run.

NO dont delete it wont take you long to get out of 1.7 mill i got out ofa hole of 1.6 mill before you can do it...and doing the tech tree isnt that rediculous you get more damage from doing tech tree and more defense and block...but wont take you long to go straight up for the one handed 4....

just go for that first....you can get out though...one buff session at a time and i would suggest endor over dant....less npcs....

I would rather grind out of a 10 mil hole then have to do the FS grind again. I HATED driving to the village. Even if the option was available. I would not re-roll.

Now with that being said. you areafr fromdoomed, the deficit(sp?) you are in can be chewed up rather easily. I finished my Padawan trials on the night of the 23rd, and I am at 0,0,3,0 LS, novice defender, novice healer. Plus I work a full time job. Granted I play more then most people, but it should still show that if you WANT to get back to 0. then you can with alittle bit of work.

What I did for myself all through the FS grind, and I am using it again now is I set myself a goal when I start playing that day. Maybe set it to "I want to get 100k jedi XP tonight" if you get it, then that is perfect. if you go past it..... even better!" When I didn't achieve that goal, I found some way to blame a guildmate on TS.

Keep grinding, you can/will get out of this as long as you want to....... small steps though

Hey everyone, i just had a horrible thought: I started the Phase 3 quest where you have to escort the sith guy and attack the base and all that but never finished it- when it changes to phase 3 again will i have to dofinish quest or can i choose a differant one? I mean i know it says you can only do one quest a phase but does that mean you must finish the one you did on a previous phase time (i.e.- last time it was phase 3)?
