ok... I am hearing a lot about how FS xp is "impossible" to obtain. Rather than post a thread in which the topic has been ranted over and discussed so many times that it gives me a headache just thinking about it, you should be off trying to think of productive ways to get around this.
Be it that I like to follow my own advice, I have done just this. My plan to grind FS xp is as follows.. pay close attention now....
-MBH / M Pistoleer
wow that doesn't sound so hard... does it? What am I getting at you ask? Well simply my own personalized and fully tested...
Guide to Post CU FS grinding....
Gives you three damage types to cap on, which first and foremost saves you from making more frequent trips to the village. Find a hunting group. You need not worry too much about CL as each individual players' CL is adjusted to fit that of the player in the group who holds the highest CL. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but it only takes 1 hit off a creature or NPC to obtain the max amount of xp. Not only that, but lairs now spawn a massive amount of creatures when in a full group of 8 players. Amass your group (make sure you havea couple healers in it, preferably CM) and have everyone pick 2 missions each in the same direction. Creature missions tend to be a more productive use of time as they have a greater spawn.
By greater spawn I mean this... an initial spawn of close to 10-12 creatures. A second spawn with roughly 10-15 creatures, and the same for the third spawn as well.
-CL of 80 making a hit on a CL of 80-82 = 5000-5900 xp (assuming your using a combat prof)
-12 creatures x 3 spawns = 36 creatures
-5000 xp x 36 creatures = 180,000 xp
If your group is good at drawing a couple creatures out slowly (as my group today was very efficient at doing), and your healers actually know what they're doing and are good at keeping the group healed, each lair will be no problem. An hour and a half later, I had capped on Pistols xp at 1.2 mil (thanks to master pistoleer). Along with that 1.2 mil pistols xp, I had gotten 145k combat xp.
*-1.2mil xp / 30 (FS conversion) = 40k FS xp
*-145k combat xp / 3 (FS conversion) = 45k FS xp
*yes.. it is necessary that I be this precise about my explanation. I want to make my point to be made very clear to hopefully bring an end to such excessive flooding of the forums about the same exact topic.. over... and over... and over... and over... (get my point).
This gives you 85k FS xp in an hour and a half. Yes it is not quite as fast as the old nade tactic, but heaven forbid you not fill all 6 of your unlocks in the span of a few days.
So why MBH as well? Along with capping Pistols xp at 1.2mil, MBH allows you to also cap Carbines xp and Heavy weapons xp at 900k. MBH will also allow you to cap out combat xp at 900k.
So after capping pistols, carbines, and heavy weapons.. it will take you around 4 - 5 hours and will leave you with the following results :
900k xp = 30k FS xp
30k FS xp x 2 = 60k
60k FS xp + 40k FS xp (from pistols cap) = 100k
In the meantime, you have achieved 325k combat xp
325k xp \ 3 (FS conversion) = 108,333 FS xp
108,333 FS xp + 100k FS xp = 208,333 FS xp in 4-5 hours
If this method of leveling FS xp is too slow for you, then I believe there is a problem. I'm hoping this shows you that there is no more need to cry and complain about how FS xp is "impossible" to obtain. I just did it today... which means either I'm a god and am capable of achieving the impossible... or you can do this too.
Here is one last breakdown... the breakdown of estimated time to complete one FS branch using this method.
1 branch of FS = 1.2 mil FS xp
4 hours = 208k FS xp
1.2mil / 208k = 6 total xp caps (rounded up)
6 xp caps x 4 hours = 24 hours*
*During double xp week, it will take roughly 12-14 hours to obtain enough xp for one FS branch
I'm sorry this is slower than your usual 100k FS xp in 25 minutes to an hour, but it's still good enough. Definately not months and months to obtain at any rate. And if this form of FS grinding is too slow for you still, perhaps you shouldn't be a jedi anyways.
Thus concludes my Post CU FS grinding rant/guide. Now no more excessive "impossible to grind FS xp" posts or I'll be baaaaack *shakes fist*
Disclaimer: If at any time you think my calculations are off or if this is only a matter of theory, please remember the fact that I personally have tested this. All numbers are subject to vary from person to person, as all figures are pulled directly from merely my own experience, and thus I am in no way liable for any blindness, nausea, or hemmoraging due to excessive gaming.
Note : Double xp is in one day. *cough* hint *cough*. Which means what to you? Using this method during double xp week will mean this method will be reduced from 4-5 hours to a low low time of 2-3 hours.
this is how ive been doing my last tree in FS, works well and its far more fun hunting with friends than throwing nades at a lair, Or you could ask for a 'instant jedi button' ?.
jedi was never ment to be easy to get.

BH's are cloning likeits the clone wars. My friend logged in and found a BH w/ friends on his doorstep within 3 minutes. Hadnt even finished his respec or setting up his toolbar.
Same here, I logged on to help my IRL girlfriend learn how to best use rifleman and get some EXP together last night cos of the changes, after we'd got buffed I noticed 3 people on my radar setting up around my houses, cloaked and went to check it out and she came out too, accidentally (But greatly) she found a 4th that was covered. Theres no way I was going to risk fighting anymore then 2 BHs atm with the way my force dissappears from fighting 2 the other day, 3 would have killed me and 4 would have been instant death, so I logged back out. /doh

So you tested this huh? as in last night? because with another of my characters I have been trying to find the cap and currently I am at 1,745,361 pistol xp and climbing still (thats in 3 hours of group hunting on corellia)....while I'm not doubting it's a good way to get xp your assumptions on the cap limits are incorrect. You can go over 1.2 million...way over and fairly quickly too I might add...mind you I was doing this on day2 of the CU for curiosity since I have all the FS xp banked for next phase but currently the cap is higher than your thinking

Oh for Christ's sake. The sum total of what Jedi was meant to be and isn't would fill 3 galaxies. Please give your "it was meant to be hard" crap a rest. It was meant to be worth it. It was meant to be working. It was meant to be powerful. These weren't delivered so why should it be as insanely stupid as it is now? The devs spend all their time going back on everything they said the game should be. They started with Jedi and the CU is just another one of their "I know we said it'd be that way, but we decided we don't like you and don't want you as customers" changes.

Wow that all sounds great and good and almost makes getting one hit killed by any village thug almost sound worth it. But the fact remains you can grind all you want but to unlock branches unless fixed will be your doom! Getting shot by a small turret while you are 1000m away and getting killed will put a small damper on your xp parade. I fortunately have 1 branch left and have the xp to fill it but to kill Mel now is crazy bugged and impossible. And thats if i can complete the phase 4 melee defense quests where i have to kill 25 outlaws and 50 pirates who will be running around the village one hit killing every chump there stupid enough to think this game is fun anymore. I spent almost 2 years of my life playing this game and in constant trouble with the old lady as a lot of you know what im talking about. So after a almost divorce this is my reward. I played to be a BH that was my reasoning forbuying this game but it was so bugged and weak that i dropped BH after 16 months and decided to do the jedi thing only for this to happen. So good luck on your grinds and lots of luck unlocking branches. This CU is the death of Jedi as we know it so if you got one great! If you dont ...dont bother! KOTOR 2 whips this games ass anyway!!! So@#&%you very much SOE! Ram this crap down someone else throat! This game sucks now so do as the rest of us are doing and cancel!

Here's a list of things that Jedi was supposed to be:

It's as hard as YOU make it for your self.
