Did you see the movies?
*Luke Skywalker. Jedi.
*Darth Vadar. Jedi.
*Ben Kenobi. un huh yep another JEDI.
Yoda. yep you guessed it Jedi.
Leia. Force Sensitive (though we dont find out till much later).
THE*THREE ABSOLUTEMAIN CHARACTERS OF STAR WARS ARE ALL JEDI.
So when you name your game, STAR WARS, your players are coming for pretty much one reason. JEDI.

Yes I have seen all the movies and I am a fan.
My point was that none of these caracters in the movies are instantly born Master Jedi or even force sensitive for that fact. Well maybe they were born with some kind of force in them. But they each had to LEARN to be a jedi and that is the way the game is set up, for each person that wants to be a Jedi must learn to be a jedi. Learning doesn't happen instantly it takes TIME.
A lot of the people that get on here are looking for a way to become Jedi without the work (grinding) and training that it takes to become one.
That is my point. If you want an instant Jedi go play KoToR or go buy one off EBay. I amlike you and I am sure alot of the other players out there and cannot afford an EBay Jedi. So I must do it the natural way an work for it myself which I will point out, I am enjoying because I am still enjoying the game. If there comes a time when I do not enjoy the game and the work that has to be put into acheiving my goals there a real simple solution. QUIT.

If I could afford to buy one on eBay I'd be playing it now. =)
In the game would you buy a Pistol that worse then everyone elses? No you wouldn't. What if that was the ONLY pistol that you wanted, cause it went with your concept and there was absolutely no where else in the galaxy to get that same pistol? You'd probably use it anyway, but you constantly be looking for something better. HELLO you have me and SWG...
No one, ESPECIALLY NOT ME, is saying you should start off as a Master. I have said about a hundred times I think the 32,000,000 exp to Master a Template is a good thing.
However, all those Jedi, Luke, Yoda, Ben, Vadar, did start off as Jedi very young. Luke was the oldest in his late teens. Vadar we now know started about 8-12 years old. Not sure about Yoda due to his alien nature, but from the movies I'd say the greatest majority of Jedi were trained from a very young age and nothing says this isn't the case with Yoda as well.
None of these character killed the 2,000,000 Bol I have on my way to Jedi hood.... In fact if they had they'd never be allowed to start training!
If there was another MMORPG of Star Wars I'd be gone. In fact I have quit for two extended periods of time. I finished Kotor in two weekends thank you very much now what? Oh back to this broken game.
See the date my Forums account was created there near my name. That will tell you I have been here for a long time. I have done everything you can do in the game except Jedi. And I am working towards that goalstill. I can't put in 40 hours per week into the game. And I can't mindlessly grind for more than an hour without getting a Migraine from the tediousness and boredom. HOWEVER, there is NOTHING LEFT in the game for me to do. So sorry I am pissed at how poorly this product was crafted.
Firewalker kid,
It's my opinion thatthose people that say QUIT or GO PLAY KOTOR or JEDI ACADEMY should be taken out and shot! At least in the metaphorical sense. Sorry, but your complaining about complaining is beneath contempt and extremely juvenille.
Adults who have to work for their money and earn the money they use to play MMORPG's are use to getting something for their dollars. We expect to get what we are told we going to get when we pay our money.
It's hillarous that these miscreants, the quit/kotor shouters, often say you're a kid because you complain. When the reality is just the opposite. It's the people who EARN the money to play games in there off time are the ones most disappointed.
It's easy to have low expectations when your parents are footing the bills for activities, of course they don't mean much to you.
And just because someone is illiterate or can't type/spell doesn't mean they don't work hard for their earning. They probably work harder due to being less educated. But they still EARN their money and know the value that comes with it.

Well, for one thing selling your account on ebay is against SOE rules and could get your account banned.
Second, if people find out you're an ebay jedi, they might not be too nice to you since most players see it as the biggest cheat in the whole game.

Did anyone answer ebay?
wow...i guess that would be the fastest, but most expensive route lol.
Doh! I didn't mean to start an ebay debate.
Let me rephrase my question...what is the path to becoming a jedi. I keep reading these posts about accumulating x amount of exp. What I'm curious about is:
1. Where does one start on the path (begin)?
2. Are there certain profs you have to master?
3. What profs benefit the jedi more? (which begs the question, do you get to keep your previous prof skills when you complete jedi?)
And for the record, I would never buy a character. It defeats the purpose of the game to me.
Thanks again for your input!
