It seems the Devs took the time to write a special message for the holocrons when hey drop after publish 9 stating that it's not gonna help you. The question is wouldn't it have been easier to just remove the holocrons from the loot tables? Unless perhaps there is going to be some other use for these? Anyone have any information on this?

Did you loot one? I have not yet looted any. I have cleared the Force Crystal caves multiple times and have killed many FS guys/dark troopers and have yet to find one.
Anyway, whether they were removed from the loot tables is a moot point. They had to add a message to the holocrons for the people who still have them. So, the answer is no, they couldn't just remove them from the loot table to solve the problem.
My guess is they did both.

In the recent chat log from a Dev Q and A session.... They said to hold onto the holocrons, but did not say why... So hopefully they are adding another use for them soon.

Yes, I did loot them. 2 as a matter of fact after P9. In fact Ilooted one just last night so they are still dropping. Sith Holocrons dropping from Imperial Missions. Thanx for the info on that dev chat.

I heard a rumor that holocrons will be used as some sort of force stim pack. Anyone have something on this?

Thats what they hinted at in one of the dev chats i think, not sure if its test center or not.

supposedly gonna be a full force regen on shot but thats all rumor nothing official yet

On the Wanderhome trade forum Valuthor is autioning sith and blue holocrons and says jedi will be using them to replenish force power. I had heard that holocrons would become important again but have heard nothing else. Can someone give an update on this or direct me to where this is documented.

i'm a light side ranked jedi on gorath and when i used a blue holocron in battle today it completely replenished my force power (over 7000, i was empty before and full after)
a little while later i tried a sith holocron and it just hummed. could be a timer or not able to use sith versions
