Thread: Using C-12 Grenades for FS XP - A Guide UPDATED FOR CU!!
Stand 6m away from the lair when you throw. C12's have a blast radius of 5m. Standing 6m away still gives you a good hit %. Even if you miss by a bit, the blast radius still hits all the mobs. But this way really cuts down on the damage done to you. Instead of standing on the lair and getting hit with every throw, you only get hit about 25% of the time. With most mobs this works out well because they still gather around the lair to repair it. I tried this with Sharnaffs and it worked well. There were usually 1 or 2 that didn't die because they were behind me attacking, but they were easy to clean up after the fact.

Yes, in a way. Grenades do virtually no damage now. Although, with MBH and Novice Commando the Combat XP cap is 900k (300k FSXP per cap)
You just run up to the lair, blow a nade or two at the lair, and let the creatures incap you. The group then kills all creatures and you get full combat xp (considering you dont attack in any other way.) of course, no groups like this, and you most likely (and hopefully.. rightfully) would be kicked out of the group for not doing your part.

Another way to do it is wait till there are only about 1-2 creatures at the lair as you and the group killed the rest. Then lob a nade at the 1 or 2 creatures and let the group kill it. You can't be blamed for not helping as you've done your bit with killing the creatures before.

Start your own group knowing your be doing the C12 thang and no one can kick ya 'cause its your group ![]()
I know ALOT of ppl hate the "nade throwers" but I think it is all in the way you do it. If your "nading" your not really HELPING. The way I maxed out FS for combat and reflex and I never once pissed off a group by "not helping". here is how i did it.
Get MBH+another ranged elite(pistol/carbine/rifle then you get Commando 0/0/0/2(you get (2) 900k weapons xp caps and 1.2mil weapon xp on your OTHER elite) I went MBH/MRifle. So i had 900k pistol 900k carbine1.2mil rifle 300k unarmed and 700kHeavy weapons.thats like 4.7mil weapons expo. That is 470k combat expo, and your max is 900k so you need another 430k combat exp to max right. I know it looks like there is a long way to go to maxing BUT here is where you make up that expo without even drawing the attention of "being a nader".
When you clear the 1st spawning of the lair wait till the others start shooting the lair to spawn more and you nade THOSE animals. the majority of the creatures have been dealt with and you can wait till 2 or 3 of the creatures have spawned to nade the lair to save on nades. So you get about 10 pure combat expper lair(creatures plus lair) thats about 50-60k combat exp and the weapons exp and more importantly a happy group.
It took me about 1 to 1.5 lairs to max each of the FIVE weapon exp I had, thats 156k FS expo from weapons expo and 300k FS exp from combat, for a total of 456k per trip to the village, I mean really it takes a WHILE to run to and from the village even if you are getting killed for the clone trip back to the outpost. less trips is better.
This is just my take on the whole nading for pure combat exp, WHY have ppl kick you on the 1st lair cuase your "nading" WHY spend and hour trying to find a group that will LET you Nade, when it is MUCH easier and more FS expo to do it this way.
On Bloodfin MOST groups(there are some that don't mind) really don't like Naders. I know you think your not hurting anyone but alot of people don't totally focus on everything all they see if your HP droping and then they heal you trying to "do the right thing" only to get incapped and if they die cuase your nadeing that makes them hate "naders"
