Is there a limit on the number of respecs? Or is it on a timer?


I just resubscribed and that little box that pops up.


Just curious how it worked.

Actually isn't your combat xp cap like 1mil or something with MBH?


What's your cap on SL experience with that temp?

Well, not sure how it works for people who re-subscribed... Might want to read what the actual text says in the pop-up, I think they put in a lot of effort to make the words actually explain what's going on.


I _think_ what should happen is you get a respec period of like 3 weeks, to screw around with different templates and see what you like under the new CU rules. Then once your 3 weeks is up, you get one final "token" respec, which you can keep as long as you like, and use whenever you like. Once you use up your token respec, that's it, you're done.


But I'm not totally sure this is how it works for people who missed the whole original post-CU respec period. Might want to ask around a bit more about it.

I just re-upped my alt and went through the respec period. It is supposed to be three weeks, although it seemed a lot longer. Since I didnt note the day of my first respec I'm not sure if it is three weeks from when you first respec or three weeks from when you first log in, and if it only counts days you log in. Anyway, I was a little paranoid since I kept switching profs and trying things out. On the last day of your respec you will get a different looking pop up that will warn you of your final respec. Basically it says after you logout that session you will have to keep your current template. Then the next time you log in you will get the popup again, that being your token respec. Definitely fool around with it, it will be pretty clear when your time is up, just pay attention to the popups. I didnt with my main, so on my alt I got to try all sorts of builds and had a lot of fun, especially with a full base blower template, made guild hunts fun.

I might be wrong (since I respecced to SL, and didn't grind it), but I think SL XP no longer exists since the CU.. it's all Pistols and Combat XP now for SL.


As far as my Combat xp cap at MBH... maybe it is higher. I usually hit the village once all my main weapons xps are capped (Pistols, Carbines, and Rifles) and Combat isn't capped yet.


The Scouting XP caps faster than the Weapons ones, so once I have enough for 100k FS Combat, I usually make the run and dump both. I should be done in about 6 more trips, earning enough Combat and Senses at the same time.


In any case, I highly recommend grabbing a 4xxx tree in Ranger for Scouting XP if your main goal is just grinding out the FS XP as quickly as possible. It's worked wonders.

After reading this post, and figuring out a template... if i was to do ranger (or at least some of it), i'm going to miss being an mcm... i love having the role of a support player... As it stands now, i'm mbh/mcm (3x900k, and the combat xp).. i rarely grind the medic xp as at 1.2 mil that's only 30k fs xp in senses... if anything.. i know i should... lol...


What is your combat level with that template Jaspor? Is it 80?

I have been grinding CH xp for senses. I was already a CH, but it has a nice conversion at 1:9 (i think). Add to that I am MCM, and with the scouting for CH I can cap Med and CH at 1.2 mill each and scouting at 300k. CH xp is pretty quick if you pay attention. If you picked up variants of Ranger and CH you could cap both at the same time roughly in a grind group. Kill with pets, harvest for scout, that would give you about 283k FS senses xp per trip. 323k if you cap out in medical too. Dont know if all that is feasible though.


I picked up BH 0010 and can cap rifles and carbines at 200k and pistols at 500k, plus a little combat xp. Once I finish senses I am going to respec to MBH to finish my last three trees in combat and reflexes

1 thing i am wondering is, what will happen to the Scouting XP if/when the Ranger's Revamp comes... cause i believe i remember reading somewhere that the DEVs plan on the Pre-Req's for the Ranger's after the Revamp, it will be Carbines 4 & (i want to say) Exploration 4.... so, will Scouting XP remain.... or will it die like the Slicing XP (sucks, cause that was something i would use, to convert)

Yep, CL 80. Which was one of my main concerns when figuring something out, since you'll get less XP per kill if you'relower level.


Really, since Ranger eats up so many damn skillpoints, the only other professions that you can bring up high enough to hit level 80 are ones that are also scout-based. Like BH, SL, and CH.

Very good question, and there's no answer.. only speculation that Scouting XP will be used for Scout skills, and a new Ranger XP will be used for Ranger skills..


However, who knows if this is really the plan. And, more importantly, who the heck knows when the Ranger revamp will go live. As a long-time Smuggler who has seen countless revamps promised and delayed, I don't expect to see it anytime soon. I plan on using the Scouting XP to unlock, and being done with the FS grind long before the Ranger revamp even makes it onto TC in some initial bug-filled form.
