Thread: Question on Efficient Way through the F(and that's a big F)S xp Grind
Well, with the latest (unsurprising) blow to any hopes of actual cool Smuggling in the game, I'm yet again somewhat inspired to try and finish the god awful effin' Force Sensitive XP grind.
Right now, I'm a little less than 2 million away. Which, with my current template of Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer is about 28 more capped trips to the village provided a cap Pistols (1.5 mil), Rifles, Carbines, Unarmed (200k each), and Combat (300k). Obviously, I'm dumping everything into the Combat FS XP line.
After readingthisboard some, and realizing how much I hate grinding, I was considering if maybe there's a faster easier way... Maybe instead of going all Combat, pick up a second line of Senses, which I could then dump Medical (I'm 0400 CM too) and Politician (slow-ass gaining, but still, a few thousand every few weeks) XP into. To that end, I could also pick up some Scout skills, and earn it by skinnning things I've killed. If I went this route, I'd need about 1.1 mil Senses XP and 900k Combat XP.
So, basically, I'm asking for advice. Or if anybody knows of a template that would work well with this. I really don't want to dump Master Smuggler, and I don't want to drop below level 80. Anybody know what scouting XP caps at if I were to go, say, 4000 Scout?
I'd like to be able to do some math, and compare this approach to my current one, and see if I can significantly reduce the number of village trips I would need to make, but I can't do that without knowing the XP caps for Scout at 4000 and CM at 0400 (although I think CM might be around 1 mil or so, I've never bothered to get it that high). I'm having a hard time tracking down a post that lists what different XP types cap at different skill levels.
I know there are some grind experts still out there somewhere willing to share their secrets, right? ;P
Thanks for the input. ![]()
I do have a respec left, but was hoping to hold onto it...
And yes, I am on Chilastra. ![]()
Does anybody know what Scouting XP caps at for, say, 4xxx Scout or 4xxx Ranger?
I don't have enough skillpoints to get all the way to Master Ranger and still keep Master Smuggler.

Hmm, i decided to try (as a master bh, i already have 4000 scout)... it caps at 75k... so at a 8:1 trade in (i think that's the trade in)... that's only 9375 senses xp... I believe for any 4th tier box in ranger, is a million xp (or 125k fs xp).. But like you, i don't have the skill points for all of that...
As a master CM, i'm not sure of the medical either... i'm guessing 1.2 mil just like the weapon caps..
Good luck!
Man, Master Ranger sucks up a ton of skillpoints.. more than MBH even! What's up with that?
Anyways, after screwing around with the profession calculator thingy, I think I'm going to respec to MBH/Master Ranger. This will give me a nice high cap on Scouting XP for Senses, and a higher-than-usual cap on Combat XP. Should be able to get about 150k FS xp inSenses and 100k in Combat for each capped trip to the Village... Which cuts my total trips needed from about 30 to about 10 or so. Of course, it'll take a little longer to cap each time, but I think I'll still come out way ahead.
Thanks for the advice and feedback, and feel free to continue to give opinions and experiences, as I haven't pulled the trigger just yet. ![]()

With only 2 full trees to fill I droped MBH/Mpistols/Rifles and went MTK/2 trees in swords/pikemen and 1 in fencer this lets me turn in 4.8mil weapon and 300k combat xp each trip, that comes to 170k FS each trip![]()
So letme get this straight..... I'm a MPistol/Mcarbine whicheach cap at 1.2mil weapon. So if i were to pickup rifleman 4/0/0/0 I would be able to cap that at 1.2mill too and bring a total of 3.6 mill weapon to the villiage??

Here's the catch though - if you only go 0040 Ranger, and try and put skillpoints into another weapons profession, you're CL will take a pretty hefty hit. You don't have enough skillpoints left to move up into anything very high, except Squad Leader it looks like.
MBH/Ranger 0040 leaves you with only 61 skillpoints to play with, and CL 61. And without any of the Marksman lines to grab another Novice weapons profession. Best you can do is 4430 Rifleman, which leaves you at CL 76. Or MBH/Ranger 0040/SL 4443, which puts you back up at CL 80.
Think those 4 levels make a big enough difference to worry about in terms of XP grinding? Hrmm....

Well, I did it... I used my respec, and went MBH / 0040 Ranger / 4443 SL.
I've got some nice high weapons caps (between 900k and 1.2 mil, depending on the weapon), 300k Combat XP cap, and 1 million Scout xp cap.
With everything capped, I come in around 100k FS XP in both Combat and Senses. Not bad, not bad at all. With a good group, I can cap in less than 2 hours.
I should have done this a lot sooner, oh well. ![]()
Thanks for all the input, folks! ![]()
