Thread: The 30:1 fix *EXPLAINED*

i hate to interupt u all flamming this guy.

But dont u think grinding even 3-5 hours a day for anywhere from, mid 200's to low 500, days (depending on how u grind)

is a little excessive?

i understand that soe wants us to play as long as possible, but i think driving people into working like drones doing the same thing over and over again is well a little boring.

I think the village is a good idea, but it needs a little less grind and a little more content.

an example of this is the quest that r goin on now to unlock the boxes, but add in those super rare loots. what i mean is you have to go out and find loot like the blacksun ace helms and turn them in to ( that lizard dude) and get a free box or tree.

that's just one idea, you could always make a quest outta the village that sends u to a place like the dwb (doesnt have to be there) that would be much harder then, well all the quest from the village (maybe part from melee acc)

It just doesnt seem right to me to do one easy quest and then grind for hours to fill the 4 boxes.

i guess i shouldnt complain i grinded about all my boxes but 4, it would have been nice to turn in pearls or something for exp thou, lol or my worthless bolotaur

anywho thanks for reading.

To the OP: I definitely sympathize with you. The combat xp nerf is unfair to those currently grinding the village. I finished the village about a month ago, but that doesn't mean I cannot envision being in your shoes right now. I think they made a mistake with this change. I also think that you should keep up with the uproar, because there is a fair chance that they will see their error and fix this in some other way (it should have been a grenade nerf, not a combat xp nerf).

But the other posters on this thread are correct. I don't know how far along you are, but if you haven't figuredit out yet, you will soon find that the entire path to Jedi, and the Jedi grind itself, isabout finding the best methods to grind EFFICIENTLY. And from the numbers you posted, you are not doing that - and you even admit it to a certain degree. At this point in time, I think your biggest concern should be the fact that you are only earning 600k weapons xp in 5 hours of game time. Someone else posted that they can earn Jedi xp at this rate, and I can confirm that as being pretty accurate. And Jedi xp is earned at about 1/6th the rate of normal weapons xp, and then you have to factor in that a new Jedi is even weaker than a normal combat prof...so that should give you an idea of how much more xp potential there is out there. It is no stretch at all to suggest that you could be earning xp at 4-5 times your current rate, at least.

Keep up with the complaining (no, seriously), but find better methods for earning xp. Even a casual gamer can find ways to be more efficient.

I did this kind of calulation on another post and you made the same mistake as myself.

It's actually a bit worse, as you forgot the 2, 3 or 4 novice boxes needed at 50K FS XP each so 1500000 regular xp each more )

But I still do agree that grinding is not the solution to the Jedi 'problem' everyone talk about. They can slow down the jedi rate, but it won't prevent us from seeing tons of them roaming our cities already.

I do not call that difficult. I call that INSANELY BORING.

At that rate, by the time i get Jedi Initiate i will be STARTING MY JUNIOR YEAR, and my sophomore year hasnt even STARTED yet.

You cannot tell me to stop complaining now. This is insane.

I demand a fix.

Don't worry - your high school education is more important than becoming a Jedi in a hurry. I'm surprised that you aren't complaining that it takes "eighteen whole weeks" to complete the six phases needed to unlock.

Personally, I think that becoming a Jedi should take long enough to weed out the instant gratification crowd.

well u see.....well over half of the days that i grind at OP, i can never find a group. And more often than not, i happen to get a crappy group that doesnt know what "pull" means. Which, blended together on average, thats about 600k exp per day.
and no. I dont get 1 mill in 5 hours. Lets do the math on that one.
220,050,000 / 1,000,000 = 220 days.
hrmm. And thats assuming that i get 1mil exp each and every 7 days of every week for the next 220 days...not gonna happen. My way equals itself out.

Hmmm... I'm having probelms seeing what your getting at.
I'm on Farstar, and grinding from Mos Lowlands I can get about 3,000,000 Weapons XP in about 2 Hours. Thats capping out Carbines at 1.2 Mil and Pistols and Rifles at 900K.
So, going by your theory of it requiring 220,050,000, it would take me exactly 73.35 days to complete the FS grind. Thats roughly 2.3 Months at 2 Hours a day.
Thats not even including Combat XP.
Doen't look to bad to me.

That was about my calculations when the announced the change. I would double the estimate if you solo most of it. So 145 days to solo to Jedi. *shrug* Its not supposed to be easy. I agree that doubling it on us was really annoying but its still an attainable goal if it is in fact really something you want badly.

Also, you may want to reconsider Jedi if you find grinding hard.

Here's some quick Padawan calculation results:

2Jedi Professions (eg. Lightsaber + Defender) Mastered + All Novices = 30.8 millionJedi Experience

Breathe....

30.800.000 Jedi Experience points.

From hunting pikets with some CL80 Jedi while I was CL80 non-jedi, we did some talking and came to the conclusion that they made a fifth of my experience (rifle experience), so:

30.800.000 * 5 = 154.000.000 regular experience is how long it's gonna take (and this is not even full template), to get all novices andmaster two jedi professions.

On top of that you get Jedi stressed alot, perhaps got an alt characterto establish, etc, etc.

Oh, and besides the two masters, you still have skillpoints for eg. Healer 4400, which is an additional 6 million Jedi Experience, which resembles 30 million rifle experience, making the total 184 million regular experience.

As you drop regular skills your CL will also drop in between, making you less experience per kill.

Either adjust to insane grinding or wait till they make Jedi a real challenge to get instead of a grind (which will likely nevre happen).

Med Xp was changed to 30:1

Good. I didnt know this, but its reasonable considering that medical experience is gained as much as weapon experience :-)

Did they change scout too? And how about bounty hunter experience?

Scout is still 8:1

In on of the Force diciplines BH was 1:1 and that was changed to 5:1 from what I've read.
