Imagine this guy in phase 4 when the server only manage to spawn thugs over and over again. The village gets crowded with 50 thugs. We did manage to clean the village, it was hard but very fun. The xp sucked tho.

LOL do you realize that maybe after the first week there will be people selling the shield disks if you don't want to kill the sith to find one? Also it isn't that hard to find generators. Just go by some of the bases and kill the pirates/whatever the other ones are and try not to let the thug come close. If you need to get right up on the thug then and he will switch to melee and he will do very little damage to you if you are fully buffed and have some comp armor on. I had to get the shield disk about 3 times i think and the longest it took me was 35 mins the shortest was 5 mins. You will find one.

um, I was MSwords/MFencer with barely any medic and I could easily handle 2 or 3 thugs at once.

Get the shield disks, you need to have someone else in your group to get the mind crystal.

You dont have to kill any thugs if one of the two in the group are willing to die, it has to be the guy who takes the shields down though, hopefully he can take out the turrets and front gate before he dies.

Once he dies the commader spawns.

Once the commander spawns the other guy has to be very sneaky! Get as close to the base as you can without aggroing the thugs, I think you may need a 3rd person ungrouped, I will explain why next.

The thugs will despawn for about 5 secs, as they start to despawn the other grouped guy can sneak in and the 3rd ungrouped guy will have to take out the front gate and turrets quickly if the first guy didnt.

Go into the base and theres another gate to get to the commander, let the ungrouped guy kill it, so the thugs dont aggro the grouped guy, go in and capture the commander.

Wait till the next despawn and run out with the commander and dont stop for anything, dont use a bike either, its best if you keep the commander targetted and within 30meters of the capturer, he slows down on hills so be careful on them.

The guy tha died can come back and help defend the one who has captured the commander, but the ungroupped guy is the main protector as sith will attack while your running back to the village, about every 500m 2 of them will attack.

This should be enough to give you a shot, I took 4 people through this quest last phase and made on my 1st try everytime after it was shown to me how to do it like this.

the despawn trick doesn't appear to work anymore..

I appreciate everyone who's trying to help using info based on the last time this cycle was around, but things were changed.

The thugs are now in full comp with max resists(including 100% LS, apparently; read other thread for posts about J-Knights dying during this quest).

Just as one group despawns, 5-20 more are spawning right on top of them(or very near).

The only thing from last time this cycle was around that appears to still be in is that the commander instantly spawns if one of the group members dies..

Spent 9 hours yesterday trying to complete this quest, using all the 'tricks' and tips from last cycle.. none of them apply anymore.. none of the useful ones, that is.

The one time we actually got the commander out and on the way to the Village, he committed suicide 5m away from both group members before any Sith patrols even showed up.. Gave up in disgust after that.

If you need disks, dont kill the thugs. Spend a few minutes in the countryside looking for the random spawns of 10 or so outcasts or pirates. With master sword, master doc, you should be able to kill 9 outcasts and 1 thug without trouble. I managed to get a dozen or so wp and remote disks in just a couple hours and i wasnt even looking for them.

Yea man you need alot more patience than that. You should have gotten a group together instead of dien 8 times only then to say that it sux that you can't beat it yourself. Very lame. This game has a ton of solo stuff to do but, now that they added some group quest you complain lol.

Hell be happy you're even doing the quest! I am on DAY 7 waiting for the old man to spawn to get access to the village!

Just get a group and killem, done deal.

If the despawn trick doesnt work then I am going to bum a couple people out tonight when i try and help them tonight, I have this stickied so I will try and come back tomorrow or later tonight and update how it went, it just doesnt make sense that they would make it tougher to do, it was already hard enough last phase 3to figure it out, but like many have said already, I liked the challenge, I only died one time when I first tried doing it, but I surely ran my legs off the many other times I failed before I had someone show me the method I described to you.

The despawn is very short, maybe even less than 5secs, I know that I hardly noticed it until someone showed me exactly what to do, it took allot of patience.

Getting a group together to 'killem' is easier said than done.. The way this quest works, only 2 people in the group get the reward, on top of that, the more people you have in the group, the more Sith that spawn, making it near impossible to complete. Yes, you can use a secondary group of people to help with the killing, however, there's 2 problems with that: 1. unless your partner is willing to die, the 2nd group can't help much with killing the required 5 thugs to make the commander spawn; & 2. It's becoming increasingly harder to find large groups of people willing to help with this quest when they know they're getting absolutely nothing out of it.

Trying to actually start up a secondary group to help pairs of Questerslast night resulted in finding no more than one other person willing to help out others.

Nobody's complaining(well not me at least) about having to group, or having a group-based quest. What we're complaining about is that you're punished for grouping with more than the 2 initial members.

yeah, I'm praying it was just a lag problem last night from so many people trying to do the mission instead of a real change.. I ran the same mission many times last cycle helping others(I took the other combat mission last time around) and know that we basically depended on the despawn to quickly finish it..

I'd appreciated hearing how you find things

It is amazingly hard! Thats whats so great about it. And you know theres probably 5-6 other people just like you at the village just hoping someome will ask them if they want to team up to try to tackle it. Now is your chance to make a new friend or 5 at the village, and group with them and accomplish it together. Who knows, you may save them from wanting to quit too.

Phase 4 is a hoot ....

for the 1st week

day 1 - village is full total ownage .. riflemen get hit on thugs, pirates very fast finish and leave.. very few peoplethat need rez'ing

.

.

day 7 - 20 odd people left in village most are melle, some there to convert, total of 3 doc that can rez, everyone died , thugs with t21's get into village. Very hard to help with healing and rezing when your having trouble staying staying alive yourself.

teh same thing will happen this time round, like i said before, about this quest

are the soe coders so lacking in skills they cannot (or care not) to adjust the spawn numbers soas to give those in village some hope of success

Yes i could group to do this quest, but i do remeber somewhere in the publicity that u could "choose to play solo or in a group"

Its also rather ironic that u would need to group to become a jedi, through your quests.

And then spend the next few months hiding from anything that has 2 legs, for fear of becomming a Bh target.

O' er all station access to SoE-multiplayer games Eq2 swg planetside from Feb 1 for $21.99 thats rather tempting, nice way to spread frustration over a few games, without hitting a breaking point in any one game.
