Thread: All the noobie whining proves the devs did the right thing.

I agree with lengthening the time it takes to get glowie, because people need to experience the rest of the game before they immediately jump to "z0mg I have to get Jedi." I suggest a higher number of badges (including more quest ones so people cannot just do location) required, and more professions mastered to get a feel for the game.

So...What they would to, from listening to people, is Fix the dificulty on how to get FS>>>Fix the content on getting to jedi>>>and then fix how hard it is to get a full temp jedi (That one already accomplished). I'd say (never done these before but I don't read much peoples bio's that have all of these) get the hero, intelect, ect. And of course other things to make it getting that hard and I don't want to come up with an idea for gettign FS.

you know, you were a noob as well once. just because you are jelous of others, doesn't mean you have to flame them as you did in other threads.

at least write a constructive post, as some others did in this thread, then i can accept what you are trying to accomplish here. otherwise, go parachuting without a parachute, that sounds like a better help for our community, thank you.

You don't have to believe that. I am not the Twi'lek you are looking for. Move along.

ok, ill do it for him since i agree.

not only me, but a lot of other vets and noobs both think that getting to the village is too easy. i believe they should require more content badges, more location badges, and1 more profession badges (must be elite prof). now, by doing this, not only does this give noobs more experience of the game, but also more prepared for the village. they are more ready to take on the sith, and more that waits in the village. also, this lets them experience the game more before moving onto the almost constant grind they are going to do, since they just want jedi. under the current system, all a lot of noobs see if jedi. they get into the village and grind all the time, but do nothing else. they dont know of the geo caves, the vette, much of kash, space, dwb, etc... forcing the noob players to experience the game can only do good

It kills me how the people who have made Jedi Padi or even further can talk about the people who are complaining.

If I am not mistaken, unless they did holos - didnt they get the same benefits that are now being taken away? Most of them probably grenaded their way to Jedi - most Jedi i know did.Why is it fair that you guys get to make jedi so quick and now we are nerfed because there are so many of you?

Dont tell us we are whining - we just think it sucks that you can - for two years - have this road to jedi -then just make it much harder. Its not even harder - just a lot more time consuming than it was. Why - if this is not such a bad thing, shouldnt you just re-grind to keep Jedi?!?!?!?!? A lot of people wouldnt stay Jedi that way - cause they dont want to do that grind either...

And, I am a supporter of the 30:1 XP nerf - grenades was a little unfair and easy to do - but there are A LOT of Jedi right now who are telling us not to complain who did the grenade grind. Why shouldnt they re-grind like everyone else?

I finshed half way and nowI am only trading about 40K FS XP each trip by just doing rifles.. I dont mind - I just think its unfair to the people who havent made Jedi. But, eh - what can ya do? Play or quit I guess.. i wish the devs would come up with something, and most importantly - STICK WITH IT AND NOT CHANGE EVERY 2 WEEKS to keep it fair to everyone in the game.

My concern with this sir is turning new people away from the game, although i do agree with some of your statements...Our community as a whole should welcome new players, it only adds to the longevity and strength of the game. So crushing someones dream of becoming a jedi or whatever the case may be could have adverse effects on us vet's as well. I've been grinding jedi since the first phase of the village (didnt have the stomach for the holo grind lol) so I do understand where your coming from believe me, but lets not make it unattainable to those who wish to walk the path.

That is true, this is a business and they make decision based on what is best for the game in their minds - but - as players we pay our monthly fee as well and we should have the right to have a certain stability when it comes to the game.

This game is an ever-changing game and they do change things, I just think that they are being a little un-concerned with the players rights or best interest by just flip-flopping everything b/c there are too many Jedi.

I believe they have switched XP back though - if so, then they are listening to the players. Jedi should be a higher held profession, as it was in the books and movies and I think they are going to eventually get it to where it should be. I think they should just give us the chance to maybe provide feedback since we are the players and life of SWG and then LISTEN to us. I also wish that all the flamers who write the posts about "noobs" would stop also. Just because they grinded their way to SWG easily doesn't mean they should flame people who are stating their opinions of the game and how they feel SWG devs are not treating them fairly b/c the devs areimplementing this XP crap they did. This was unfair to everyone playing SWG even full temp jedi's - but full temp jedis could really careless about xp though huh ....... I guess I wouldnt care either if I didnt need xp....lol

ppl seem to think that the xp given per kill is too high atm. I don't think so, its now 30:1 ratio for both combat and weapons xp. so I would get about 600k-700k and 60k-70k combat per hour b4 CU. at 10:1 thats 80k fs xp per cap on a single weapon cap.

with new system at 30:1

last nite i grinded for three hours straight. im mbh/mrifleman so i got 1.2mill rifle 900kpistol and 900k with 300combat xp=110k fs xp

33k per hour versus 80k fs xp. almost 2 1/2 more of a grind.

the new xp group thing would have killed jedi for good. that's cleary unfair.

so I agree with the noobs on this one.

the 30:1 ratio was more than enough for time being.

I Agree 100%,The Devs need to make it take alot longer to get glowy so it actually means something.Atm,any noob with a few content badges and a week can pull it off without a hitch.

The way i see it,becomming Force Sensative needs to take alot longer then it does now.Making this take longer does NOT crush there hopes and dreams, but it does mean you won,t see any 3 month old chrs running around as Padawans.I wanted to be a Jedi in this game like 2 years before it came out. When the game finally released i was like everyone basicaly, trying to learn how to unlock and get my glowstick. Then after experincing the game as a regualr toon,i learned quickly that there is alot more to SWG thentrying to becomea Obi Wan Wannabe or in my case a (Mara Jade) wannabe. Now keep in mind i started SWG in June 2003,and next month i finally reach my goal and can start my padawan trials, but my point is i been in the game along time, got to experince SWG in so many ways and experiment with alot of professions yet im still here. Now im not saying they should have to wait like i did or take that amount of time like i chose to,but i don,t think it would kill them to be in SWG for about 6 months before becomming Glowie. To me that seems like a reasonable amount of time.
