k let's get this straight

May -> ROTW expansion
until then -> ROTW developpement/testing blah blah and maybe even a couple of patches here and there

May/June/july -> CU Alpha/Beta (at best) and correction patches

July/August for the best -> CU hits TC then Live (doubt there will be a TC phase tho)

now throw in that some people here and there might whine strong enough for this or that, so in between, throw a couple of more patches/revamps/brilliant ideas/whatsoever/jedi revamp


CU won't be here before next september (cause SOE guys might wanna take a summer break uh?) IMO.

Right, but I mean it is going to be published when the game is released, not physically with it. You don't have to get RotW to get the CU. The CU is going to be like any other update. It's just coincidental that it will be published at the same time of RotW release.

ROTW expansion could NOT include the CU, cause people will not have to buy it to keep gaming.

Seems very unlikely that they would be able to roll out a well tested CU by the time RotW is released. So I expect CU to be after RotW.

Having said that, I am not taking any chances and am finishing my combat related FS trees as soon as my schedule allows. The CU will turn us all back into mere mortals running in terror from Robas and Huurtons.

I'm not against making combat more challenging but at the same time we done enough insane grinding as it is.

Hate to burst everyones bubble, I know I read it somewhere that the two betas were going on at the same time, I can't find the post. But this is on the front page of the site...

"We will be making an announcement very soon about the upcoming Star Wars Galaxies expansion pack. As work has developed side by side with the Combat Upgrade and this to-be-announced expansion, we have decided to run one beta test for both products simultaneously.

We want to assure everyone that the Combat Upgrade will be a *free update* for the live service.

As a special thank you to our CU testers for your patience, you will automatically be included in the expansion portion of the beta test."

They are using the CU side of it as an added bit of incentive to get the expansion, it's not included they are just acting like it is since when you can use the expansion the new CU will be live as well. My bet is that the CU will be an update published when the downloaded version of the expansion is out and able to be downloaded.... so i'm gonna say it'll be live late april when the expansion is available for download.
