Concerning the Padawan trials... While it it true that you could do them in a day or two, this is not the recommended approach. Once you get your training lightsaber, (about half way through the trials) the consensus is you should get your first 20k of Jedi xp so you can fill your novice Lightsaber box immediately upon reaching Padawan. Before you complete the trials, you cannot be placed on the Bounty Hunter terminals. If you reach padawan and don't have a first gen lightsaber, and you are killed by a BH, it's going to be a very long grind to get out of that negative xp hole using a training lightsaber. It's best to spend a week or two as Jedi initiate and learn how to use the lightsaber and get into some good habits concerning visibility rules, then to jump right to Padawan in two days. Just my two credits.
It seems to me that his intent is not to become a Jedi but to unlock a second character.

I've been glowy for about 5.5 months, unlocked all 6 branches, but only just completed my second branch...I guess it was because I went armorsmith so I didn't burn myself out on combat. Believe me, if all you do is grind FS XP, you'll get burnt out and seriously think about quitting...best advice is to cap your XP once a day (I can do it in 45 minutes in squill cave, and cap my combat XP in one buffNOT using grenades or 2 combat professions), and spend the rest of the time doing whatever else you want to do. No marathon grinding sessions that leave you with +1 Vehicle Acceleration (woohoo!).

And those of us with dreams of having all 16 characters 2 per server on 8 different servers are going to be thoroughly disappointed. *sigh*
That's one crazy dream
Bear in mind that all the time quotes above do not factor in you taking out any time to actually enjoy yourself playing the game - these are pure "nose to the grind" figures you are getting. Trust me, you will most likely get thouroughly fed up with the constant farming of mission spawns at some point and take time out to PvP, attempt missions, help friends, explore JTL etc...
So add some more time to all the quotes above
Sorry to be putting yet more dampeners on your ambition
This is a great point here. If you do go 'nose to the grind' and don't look up until you're done, you may end up quitting all together. This grind is long and boring, and provides little to no time to just enjoy playing. I ended up taking almost a month off of my grind just to enjoy the game, and in return, I've made some great friends, had a lot of fun, and have really gotten re-energized about finishing now, but it will be at my pace moving forward.

A good way, if like me you cant afford to keep grinding the combat exp caps with grenades is this: Aim to cap your 900k exp, plus the 90k combat or whatever a day (so just 60k FS per day), with 1 day doing it twice for 20 daysand you will keep up with the 3 week phases with 1 day to spare (assuming the devs dont shift the village phase early!). OR you can cap your exp twice a day for 10 days, which is probably the way im gonna do it
Really there is no point in rushing it, you still have to wait out the 18 weeks anyway.
