>IF you are planning to grind your way through everything, I will tell you the honest truth, DO NOT waste your time with SWG. This is one of those rare nitch games where 90% of the fun is getting there, NOT the distination.

Hasn't stopped everyone else, nor is there any other way to get xp except build a lot things over and over. If this is what you mean by grinding then what other choices are there? That is the only way to get craft xp considering no one else wants the rubbish artisans can make (fireworks? boffa treats, are you kidding?)

>As for apprentice xp, I guarentee you, if you think standing outside a starport and spamming your head off is going to get you some xp, it isn't.

There is no other way to alert players to the fact you are offering to teach - ESPECIALLy considering that everyone else is doing this. You have to compete, thats the problem. Its a laudable approach, but it doesnt work in practise.

>In fact, the game is designed this way to prevent grinders from being grinders, because trust me, it is not fun.

It isnt working then considering that people are grinding. a lot.

>Go find a group and hunt / travel with them / make then things and ask if anyone needs to be trained.

asking if people need to be trained is just what you complained about doing. standing outside starports (ie wher epeople congregate) to advertise your teaching is doing just that. you have to.

i also played an artisan to not go hunting because i wanted to play a game that was different from the usual mmorpg blah.

once again the artisan cant make much thats of any use to a hunting party (or indeed anyone - ive tried, no one seems to want my gun muzzles or rifles). they dont want this stuff because a) they alreaedy have it b) they can get better or c) there are too many people already that they know to make them the stuff.

>OR join a PA and get it there, but for heaven's sake, IF your only goal is to grind through to Master to either have a small chance of opening youir FS slot, or worse, try to make a zillion credits by hitting Master, you might as well forget about now.

what is a PA? why on earth do people insist on speaking in riddles?

My goal is to get to a level where i can actually do something useful. i dont care a whit about being a jedi (unlike everyone else), although wanting to be FS is perfectly acceptable. Opening Master (and beyond) allows you to get to the good stuff (building speeders is far more useful than building fireworksor dice!)

>signoftheserpent learn how to play the game. Youshould know most of this stuff.

Dont you patronise me buddy, i paid the same for the game as everyone else. if you dont like someone asking a question then get a bloody life and dont answer. If you expect me to glean knowledge beyond the scope of the manual without people answering questions then take your game and your snotty, condescending attitude and stick it where the sun doesnt shine. There is nothing worse than people like you refusing to answer what is so obviously a simple question for you to answer without turning into some caricature of the comic book guy from the simpsons.

>If you havent played long enough to figure out some of this on your own then you shouldnt be posting on the forum begging for answers.

Oh sorry i must have missed the sign on the door that said 'n00bs are suxx0rs'. Listen to yourself, your attitude makes me sick. ive played this game for a week, if you cant handle that then grow the hell up and deal with it.

>if you cant understand the answer why ask the question?

what, you think you're plato now? grow up; if you cant answer a simple question without being a loser then dont even other rsponding.

>Some people actually enjoy crafting professions. They advance at their own rate making xp and money when they can.

good for them. i have absolutely no problem with people doing that.

>If you dont enjoy the profession and you dont want to grind it then DO SOMETHING ELSE.

oh now grinding is the c00l thing?

heres a newsflash for you: ITS MY GAME AND I WILL PLAY WHATEVER POSSESSION I WANT TO?

Got it?

>Personally i surveyed for enough resources to make an extractor and then used it to get enough resources to make a lot more.

Couldnt care less. Surveying is a total waste of time and money.

>I made about 1 mil credits selling resources on the bazaar, and i never even mastered artisan.

So why are you responding to a question about MASTERING artisan?

>Thers no reason to, really. Unless your gonna try to make certain droids or shield generators that require the parts.

The reason is because I WANT TO.

>About the macros, there are ways to set up commands that will do some of the work for you(crafting).

I have absolutely no idea how to make a crafting macro. The manual doesnt give a full list of commands and i am not psychic. Now if you cannot understand that simple detail, DEAL WITH IT.

>In some cases they are completely self sufficient, meaning you can set it up and walk away from the computer(surveying).

why on earth would i want to play a game where i can walk away from the screen and do something else?

I want to PLAY the game. I dont care about making millions of cred, being darth vaders right hand man, becoming the hardest jedi or bestest shooter, i care about being an artisan who can make useful things and who can progress through the levels at a reasonable fashion. Apprentice xp is counter intuitive and stupid. it defeats the point of playing the game.

>Oh, and NO i wont post mine for you, find them yourself or write your own, its easy.

Well if you are so insecure that you cannot even share a simple list of commands then you carry on being that insecure, it doesnt bother me.

>And NO im not gonna clarify any of this for you. *laughs his ass off* heheh, what does PA mean... lol, speaking in riddles HA! What a joke.

grow up little boy, the box does say you have to be over 12 to play the game.

LMAO! Man that was great. I dont even know where to start, hahaha. People answered your 'simple question' with a simple answer and you didnt understand it. Seems to me that its your problem. I cant stop laughing, im so glad i posted that. Thanks for making my day. I'l be smiling the whole rest of the workday. In fact i think il print that out and post it by my desk. Good luck mastering artisan, i hope you have tons of fun with your profession you cant level in, cant make money in, and dont enjoy. Sounds like a great way to play the game. ROFL!

Why dopnt you print a copy out and shove it up your backside. I didnt pay to play this game to deal with losers like you who get off on winding people up.

The best way to get xp is to get a doctors buff along with some brandy and ubese armor and go hunt things... dantooine is a favorite of many. You should get a good dx2 pistol because of the acid damage type(other pistols are nice but I would get a dx2 first).

I just finished maxing out my skill points on land, and decided to give space a try. I noticed that the experiece needed to level up per level is drastically more, but i only pop about 100xp each kill. I'm a rebel alliance pilot and just wondering whats the best way to get more xp as well as if there any cool missions out there and where i find them. Thanks a lot guys.

Just start. What you'll soon discover is that you'll need missions to advance at some levels and exp at others. Then you'll discover that you'll start going after bigger enemies with better equip and get more exp.

It's 50k for the novice box, then 1.225 million FS XP per branch (175k + 250k + 350k + 450k).
