Thread: Are you tired of this also?
Great points. I always try toadvise my newb guldies to spend some time getting there professions setup and getting to know the game. I keep telling them that SWGand JTL is loded to the gills with content, you just have to take the time to look for it.

Assumptions:
Everyoneonly does theFS/Village to be a jedi - wrong
/agree almost everyone i talked to just wants a second toon. i can think of4 people i know who are actualy grinding Jedi
Jedi do nothing but kill ppl (in the movies, wrong.. in the game, mostly, but there are some exceptions) - wrong
/agree I knowa fewJedi who spend a lot of game time helping other players
Your CL is an indication of your "skill and ability" - utterly wrong
/agree My original Temp was a BH / Commando whenI dropped to Novice Scout / Novice Marksman i was still soloing lvl 25-40 mobs.
As for the sith pre-cu, you killed them?! Wowsers!... an Ent friend of mine killed them with the unarmed auto attack that used to happen, while she was getting a drink in RL, came back to 3/4 health and 2 dead sith.. they had 400 HAM! Nothing like the CL1 destroyers they are now.
/agree pre CU sith were pushovers.I was a double ranged prof and beat them unarmed.
Crafters can do the village, they just need some combat friends to help them OR be able to drive a swoop round red dots (ok, I know lag can be an issue here too), which in a good guild is never a problem. Theproblem isnew players who ARE going for cl80 and want to be killer-jedi.. but after SOE's new intro has flat out told them, 1 day you WILL be a jedi and the first thing they've seen in Eisley is probably 3-4 show boating saber wielders, is it any wonder they're impatient to get started before they're really ready?

But if you're tired of guildies asking for help, maybe you should reconsider why you are in a guild. If you are loathe to help others, maybe you should consider why you play an MMO that has an emphasis on grouping and helping. If you don't want to be bothered when someone needshelp, why are you wanting to be a Jedi? If it's to be "uber" in PvP or PvE, then you've got a horribly rude awakening on the horizon. In SWG, the strength of the Jedi profession lies in the diversity of skillsets available to a single player at one time. We are certainly no longer the alpha class damage dealers and PvP champions of once upon a time.
I don't think this was the posters issue, although if it is, I'd have to agree. Let me give an RL analogy...
Someone wants to play for a pretty good and dedicatedsports team. They no doubt have the talent to play it, but they need a little more practice to hone their skills to make the team. Instead of this, because they are so eager to get "on the team" they join up and then expect the rest of the players to work harder to make up for their lack of skill.
As stated above, it's nota problem with crafters, or eventhe hybrids who aren't cl80 and dont plan to be, it's the ones that are going to grind the village as fast as they can with whatever fotm template does it quickest, but are too eager to sponge off other "nice" players without putting in the effort themselves at the beginning.
true.. you really need to be a class 78 or higher... to even be considered strong enough.. to solo.... so maybe that should make that one of the criteria....that... and double/triple to POI badges required.. and on top of that.. make the account active for a year.. to unlock it...
that would be fair.
Eh...I'd finish this thought but I just got accepted into an AoE gurk group.

They don't take the time to get better and stronger before they do something hard. They want it given to them as soon as possible. NEVER did I say I don't help guild members. I have given millions of credits and spent hours upon hours helping guildees and new players get accustomed to the game. I love how people twist and turn what you say. My post was simply about FORCE SENSITIVE not the entire game. Sheesh.
If I had a guildmate who was a n00b character who was constantly asking me to do his missions for him I would probably suggest he try it after mastering his combat profession. I don't however have an issue with helping artisans and other non combat people with their FS entry quests because having to do combat to get to the FS Crafting Tree is silly. The same is true for having to do combat with sith to get to the Senses tree. You don't use combat skills to open those boxes or fill them so why should it take combat to get there? So I will gladly help them with something as trivial as killing a couple of level 77 NPCs.
I do agree though that people who are too new to the game (or even just too new to that character) do play an active role in the quests should wait until they finish their templates first.

I don't know what sith you were fighting but my fencer AoEed them with ease when they jumped me pre-cu. I don't know about one-hitting them with the AoE but I do know I didn't need to sweat it or use any sort of strategy.
I agree. Pre CU I waded through the Sith thugs. They went down so easy I don't think my health bar dropped below 80%...
Yes, I am tired of this. The Village content should be blocked until a character reaches a pre-determined level.
I would think that the criteria for becoming "Glowy" would be sufficient but apparently this is not the case.
For those who think that blocking content from "paying customers," the single most widely used excuse for anything on these boards, is wrong I point out the following. "Paying customers" are prevented from experiencing the aspects of the game which involve JTL and/or ROTW if they have not purchased them. Certain Quests require specific professions to undertake them. This is content which some gamers will miss out on due either to real life criteria or game based criteria.
Becoming "Glowy" is a requirement for undertaking the Force Sensitive Quests. All some are advocating is that these requirements be increased. While some may consider this a method for population control of Jedi, I, and if I am not mistaken the original poster, do not argue for it for that reason. While it is a mistake to think there is a direct correlation between Character Level and game experience one cannot help but notice that the majority of newer playersare low on the Character Level scale. Nor do I think that this will be a perfect solution to the problem. One can easily grind out a couple of professions and become CL 80. Artisans will be blocked even if they have been playing for some time. For which reason I don't see why an either/or system could not be implemented. Either you have achieved Character Level X or you have played the game forX amount of time. They already have a method for tracking the length of time a character has played. It is currently used to give players rewards. Some might call that "blocked content," at least for a time. No one seems to mind.
As far as SOE add campaign...well, that's their problem.
