On a side note, why would any crafter want to be a Jedi? At least be combat ready when the time comes.

Wow I didn't realize the responses this post got.If anyone cares...the old man came back shortly after...and the next day the sith attacked. I was prepared and had a friend take them down for me. All is well...I am FS.

Good question. Why would a crafter want to be a jedi? I already have a jedi knight myself. I just wanted to get the force experimentation line on my other account, for those nasty crit fails. Who knows though...maybe I will carry on and make a jedi. I worked it out and it seems to be rather easy to unlock...and cheaper then $15 a month for a new account. lol. I would never grind another jedi out though. Just for the extra toon.
My problem is the system allows you have the old man visit you but you do not have to be combat-ready to fight the sith.

One thing overlooked...the original poster isnt just a crafter he is 50% a elete combat class. yet the sith are set up to annilate anyone who isnt a double master.
this is a part of SoE's general policy that even though SWG was billed as a game you could experience and have fun in without having to fight that the non fighters dont need any support.
So we get combat upgrades, combat patches, weapon and quests on new worlds that have nothing to do with anyone who doesnt fight.
