Why are the sith shadow that attack after the old man gives you the crystal CL 75 and CL 77? Is the village not intended for crafters? I am an AS/Smuggler...CL 55. 2 seconds after they spawned and each took 1 shot (for 1250+). I was incapped. 1 of them approached me, but the incap timer wore off just as he got there. I turned and ran into my house that was 5m away. I was never slain. I logged my alt on grouped them both and used my CL 80 alt to kill the sith. Looted them with my crafter and nothing. So looks like I gotta wait for the old man and get killed by the sith again. BRILLIANT. As if the 3 day wait I've already had wasn't enough.

Pre-cu I was standing in a field waiting for the sith with my alt. I was browsing the forum passing time. I came back and found 2 dead sith at my feet. They were about the strength of a meatlump. Whose bright idea was it to make this impossible for crafters to do alone? The worst part is they attack in the middle of nowhere with no warning. What am I to do, hire a bodyguard to stand beside me for 2 day's while I wait? How retarded.

Have you no friends? Two days ago my level one crafter got past the sith with no problem. I got my old man visit, went inside and crafted like a crafter does. Logged back in the next day, asked on guild chat if someone would come help me get out of my house...we killed the two sith and then the three sith at the camp. Admittedly, it's not a system built for crafters, but it's not like a crafter has any difficulty doing it.If anything, I more enjoy doing village stuff with my level one vs my level 80 combat toon, because there is a challenge to it. I have no problem with it.

That's a bit harsh...but whatever. Not too many people are logged on in the middle of a weekday afternoon. I've been doing this old man quest for over 3 day's now. The old man visited last night and no sign of the sith. I logged out last night in theed and when I got on, I got an order for some composite. So I shuttled into my home city on naboo, shortly after logging on. I did my crafting and then left my house to go deliver the order. I was gonna call my speeder fast and bolt for the nearby shuttleport. As soon as I walked out of my house, they were there and I was incapped. Didn't even get my speeder called.

Sounds like the sith attacked you right after you logged on, I know from doing this two other times, sometimes the sith don't attack for hours...or even until the next day. You got some good friends that would bodyguard you for maybe a day or more. Hell even my RL friends that play the game wouldn't do that. One more thing, how is it challenging when you need someone else to do it for you?

Your right, that was harsh and I didn't mean it tocome acrossthat way and I apologize. I think you really understand what I meant by "challenging" and only flamed me on that because of how I worded my response.Ultimately, yeah it's a inconvienence to the crafter, but we honestly are a small minority of those who go FS. The fact remains that it can be done, and not too difficultly either. The complaint of the majority was that the sith were too easy and thus they beefed them up tofrustrate those who don't understand the game mechanics a little more. They figured us crafter's are saavy enough to survive. It does suck to get incapped and I am always less than happy with the game trying to drive my level one crafter 6k meters to dathomir and back, but all in all, the sith attacks mechanic doesn't bother me that much.

And again, I apologize for my remark.

Don't apologize so much. Revising the Sith from the equivalent of CL4 or 5 up to CL75 was a ridiculously large jump.

just imagine the time yer gonna have with the exit quests or the first bh you meet as a crafter temp paddi (and promptly loose 4k FSXP once he owns you).

simple concept, the weak need friends, guildies or whatever to survive.

sure it sucks, but there are a million things that suck about the FS grind. if you don't like it go back to making money (tho those sith always drop space resources, so it might just be worth the hassle for you, unlike me who cant even craft crap out of last nights dinner, but get stuck with container after container of this useless stuff

Ugh! I give up, I can't justify paying for this any more.

The village wasnt intended for crafters, sadly. My advice is to stick with some CL 80's. The Sith are cake if you've got a buddy or two to help.

The way they <SOE>see the force it's not realy for crafters <sadly>. It was made for those that wish the galaxy to be at thier fingertips. SOE seems to have locked onto the idea that all Jedi are built for battle, even tho they made the FS system to include crafters <to a point>. If you intend on unlocking Jedi then you may want to change your template for a more combat styled one, if you just are in it for the FS crafting more power to you and I admire that. Just be aware of what you are getting into.

not really, in a way the sith attacks are harder to deal with as a crafter than the exit quests. those you can do when you're ready and have a group with you. the sith come at a random time tho so you're not necessarily prepared.

and most crafters that i know that want FS aren't ever going to go actual force-using jedi on that toon. they either just want some FS boxes to enhance their skills (as in my case) or they do want 6 branches to get an alt on the same account but they won't ever actually get jedi exp, in which case they'll never get on the terms and won't have to worry about BHs.

If you just want the FS Crafting boxes all you really need to do is hire a buddy to stick with you for a day or two to wait on the Sith. Other than that, I'm sure you can easily find someone at the village to help you if there's a combat portion to a quest...

Another solution is to hire a bubby MCh to leave his pet on guard for you and freinded to you so you can command it. as long as he stays on your planet and logged on you should be fine. Heck I stepped away for the keyboard and left my pets guarding me, came back with my soda to find a bunch of dead sith on the ground. Was funny but not as much fun as smacking them around myself!
